Does trading for a WR affect Ceedee?

Yes. There are multiple teams in the NFL that have dedicated more than double the money of what we have to the WR position.

It’s 100% doable…I just don’t trust Jerry to make a good decision and make the team better.
Jerry don't know we exist to care what we think. While you're miserable, he's living his best life. Lol think bout that for a second.

Exactly. That's what would happen with the cowboys. Lamb has 2 years remaining on his rookie deal and will have a smaller cap hit on the first year of his extension. He won't be a 20 million cap hit till at least 2026

Whatever guy they either sign or trade for won't be guaranteed that long
He will not play the next two years on his rookie deal

They probably will try and get him signed asap before Jefferson signs

Let's look at a few things. If we trade for a WR that takes targets away from him. We know these guys all want the ball.

How does it affect him contractually,. If we were to trade for a big name or sign the obj guy, can you really have two $20+ million WRs on this team?!

Being that ceedee has been a cowboys player longer, who do you go to in crunch moments of the game?? Please give your thoughts
Man, I really wish the Cowboys wouldn't approach things like this. They just need to add talent, which will help not only the team, but also Cee Dee.

I tried telling people that Lamb is a number 1, and was obviously a better number 1 than Amari before the offseason, then he pretty much showed that during the regular season.

Truthfully, you don't want to impede on Lamb getting as many targets as he can handle.

It's like anything else around here with Mike McCarthy. You treat Lamb's target the same way Mike treats buffets, all you can eat or as many as you can handle. Same goes for any other receiver who could actually handle it.

I hope you're not saying that we want the Cowboys to plan around not letting Lamb produce too much so we don't have to pay him later.

And, of course, you can have two top wide receivers on the same team. If you've ever played WR, then you know having two good ones will make any of those good ones better than those same players if they were playing with much lower level talent.

I'm just confused at what you're actually asking here, and why you're asking it. Maybe I'll catch on to something that's over my head in future posts.

I'm saying he's the number one, you get someone to compliment him, get a rookie early too, why make a trade and pay two guys 20 million

That's a lot of money then we have Gallup then the guy who's throwing the ball to them
OBJ 20 mil?
Gallup will play out by the time Lamb is expensive and most of the guys you could actually trade for are either not that expensive or too would play out in 2-3 years. If we sign Lamb next year he’s not gonna have a big cap number the first couple years

Who is this 20 m guy we are trading for?
There is no guarantee and is highly unlikely at 26 you can draft a impact WR who is actually an impact day one
Even if we sign Lamb to an avg of 20 mil a season he’s not gonna have a cap hit of 20 mil for a couple or three years. Gallup will be playing out of his contract by then and most of the guys you could trade for at WR are guys who don’t have that many more years left

1: They're probably not trading for a WR unless it's for a 4th or later.

2: If they trade a 4th or later, then they'll be OK only keeping the player for a year or two.

3: CeeDee is under contract for 2023 and they have the 5th year option for 2024.

4: They probably going to sign OBJ for 9M per with an out after 2 years.

My guess is he gets extended in the offseason. They will probably tear up his option year and his extension will kick in in 2024. Probably wont effect his 2023 cap hit.
