Does Ty Crawford or Taco start at WDE?

Im sure the default is Crawford because he's a good run down player. But if Taco made strides in offseason with strength and technique, will coaches promote him? I am assuming this is Crawford's last year here ($7m cap hit in 2019; $8m cap hit in 2020), so transitioning to Taco would be better sooner than later.

Taco has 5 months to prove he can start. As a 1st round pick, no question the staff would like to see him beat out Crawford.

Im going to go with Taco. Crawford is a nice fit at RDE opposite Lawrence in that he can get pressure from a 6 gap while Lawrence rushes out of a 9. However your pass rush is only going to be so productive with that set up. Taco should be able to rush effectively from a 6, 7, and 8 gap, but we just have to see how far along he has come

Taco.

Crawford should be traded or cut, you know to save on the salary cap. Why is Dez the off season whipping post and not not Crawford? :muttley:

Crawford is often injured and has not lived up to his contract. A contract he never earned to begin with.

They both are, and should be, open to criticism. They are both paid beyond their production.

with the money we are paying DLaw, he should be the RDE. but to answer the question, it shouldn't take too much more improvement for Taco to pass Crawford.

Move Crawford inside for the rest of his asinine contract. Worst Cowboys contract ever. They had to have been high or staring at pics T-Craw had of one of their party bus soirées.

Use him and Irving inside. If Gregory come back and Taco improves we will have a good line up. Maybe why we aren’t hearing much about Cowboys drafting a DT in the first round.

I think its likely Taco has the typical second year improvement and starts next year, turning into an 8 - 10 sack player.

I think Crawford has the most value as a super sub that can step into any position as a starting caliber player who doesn't start because there are better players in all four starting spots. There is a lot of value in that for depth and for Marinelli being able to scheme for specific matchups during games.
