I dont know if he talked about him detail but it seems like he thought he was out of position.

He stressed a million times in interviews that he wants to get his BEST players in the BEST positions to MAKE plays.

I take these as hints about guys like RW and TO (since they were both miused big time IMO last year)

I think he views him as a tremendously talented player who has been used incorrectly, not being put in position to make plays and allowing teams to take advantage of his weaknesses. I hope he will follow through and get Roy going with what he does best!!!

However he views him, we won't be seeing him in a lot of Cover 2 -- according to Wade himself.

Wade views Roy as a player who's best utilized near the line of scrimmage, he's one of the best blitzing safeties in the league

Phillips also talked about how he planned to utilize Pro Bowl safety Roy Williams, saying that he wouldn't use the Tampa 2 coverage that he's used some in the past because it exposes Williams' weaknesses.

"You have to get him to attack the line of scrimmage," said Phillips, who pointed to how he used Steve Atwater and Dennis Smith in Denver. "We'll blitz him from the outside and blitz him some up the middle. You'll see a lot more zone blitzes."

Im glad Wade thinks hes not being used right. I like Parcells and think hes a great coach but one thing I really didn't like was his:

"Line up and beat your man" mentality.

It just seemed like he thought that all his players should win the 1 on 1's every down and sometimes I think you have to make things happen.

Yeah, I didn't think there was any question from the things I read and heard that Wade believed Roy to be a very talented player who was simply being misused.

For whatever it's worth, I never heard Parcells give Roy any criticism though. That was all from others.

Personally, I think Roy's weaknesses have been greatly exaggerated by some fans.

Not only did Wade mention Roy in comparison to Atwater and Dennis Smith, he also said he's not sure the guys he had in Denver were any better than Roy. So I think that answers the question. He definitely thinks Roy has a ton of talent.

Despite being used incorrectly Roy was one of 5 safeties in the NFL with at least 5 INTs. Roy's problem isn't talented. One of the few things the last staff didn't do well was use Roy correct. Roy is a decent cover DB, but he is GREAT as a blitzer.

I thought he had a pretty good year this year. Maybe I'm crazy (it is a good possibillity) but he had 5 INTs and most of them came in big spots during the game what more do you want from a SS? He got interceptions during crucial parts of the game, last time I checked that's a good thing. Sure he got beat his share of times but not unlike other Safeties I've seen.
