Doesn't look like Boldin will be traded anytime soon...

After the press conference, I asked Graves about the rumors, and he acknowledged teams have called about Boldin. They have all been told no.

"We're not interested in trading Anquan," Graves said. "That's the short of it. Obviously because of those rumors, a few teams have called to inquire, and my response has been consistent with everyone: we're not interested in trading him."

Boldin is under contract through 2010, and the team hopes to extend that deal. If negotiations go nowhere and it becomes obvious the club can't re-sign Boldin,t he the team's plans might change.

"Now, if at some point we recognize it's in our best interest to consider a trade, we would do that," Graves said, "but we haven't arrived at that point."

If the Cardinals decide to move Boldin, it probably won't be until they're absolutely sure that they won't be able to work out a longterm deal with him ... and I don't expect them to come to that conclusion within the next 4 days.

We need to all have "positive thoughts" about Terry Glenn returning to health.

:bang2: That won't get it done...plus TO aint no spring chicken anymore. I could see him missing some games here and there.

Need to get RW . Offer 28 and next years 2. Maybe too much, but Jerry can't pick his nose anyways.

I think the Cowboys are setting their sights a little high with the "Under 30, Superstar, All Pro" #2. Not many of those guys in the NFL, and they're typically not for sale. I would be happy with an older guy who would just be a really solid #2 for the next couple of years as we go for a Superbowl Run. Someone like Lav Coles.

Kudos to the Chargers for getting Chris Chambers for a late second-round pick.

That's the kind of deal I wish Dallas would have made, or will make.

Boldin inquires made, Cards say no

Kent Somers - Apr. 22, 2008 01:10 PM
The Arizona Republic
Representatives from a few NFL teams have called the Cardinals about the possibility of trading for receiver Anquan Boldin, but the conversations have been short.
"We're not interested in trading Anquan," General Manager Rod Graves said. "That's the short of it."
Rumors about a possible Boldin trade started soon after the team re-signed receiver Larry Fitzgerald to a four-year, $40 deal last month. There has been speculation that the team couldn't afford to keep both elite receivers and that it might be willing to deal Boldin.

Graves didn't name the teams that have called, but Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has said he would like to trade for a starting receiver. The Eagles tried to swing a deal for Fitzgerald this off-season, and the Commanders have been rumored to be in the market for a receiver, also.
"Obviously because of those rumors, a few teams have called to inquire," Graves said, "and my response has been consistent with everyone: We're not interested in trading him."
Boldin is under contract through 2010, and the team hopes to extend that deal in the coming year. If negotiations go nowhere and it becomes obvious the club can't re-sign Boldin, the team's plans might change, Graves said.
"But we haven't arrived at that point," said Graves.
Is that point a long way away? Graves was asked.
"I would think so," he replied.

If the Cards are ever to do anything they can't afford to let guys like Boldin get away. Same with the Lions and RW. As much as I would like to have either guy when you get down to it, it makes no sense for these teams to trade them.
