What's funny about this, only three players had more sacks on the team last year. Moyowa, who many didn't want with 6 sacks on the season, Collins, who many were not impressed with when he got drafted this year, with 5 and Crawford, who may think didn't play up to his contract, with 4.5 sacks.

I am not sure what you are looking at, we had 7 players on our team who had more than the 1.5 sacks Williams had last year. And two more who would have been tied with him at that 1.5.

The pat answer is "draft." which is fine but here's the guys under contract right now:

DE: Mayowa, Lawrence, Tapper

DT: Irving, Collins, Thorton

Tweener: Crawford

Irrelevant: Gregory

I don't really like Irving at DT but whatever. What's clear to me is this isn't a group that you can't take chances on old guys with. This group is not impressive. Credit to them for being better than I thought but there has got to be more here if you want success.

Crawford was playing out of position and with injuries and tripled the number of sacks Williams had. Plus, he was pretty high up there in pressures.

I don't get the disrespect for Crawford on here. When he's healthy, he has been a good player for us and when he's not, he still gets out there and gives it his all.
