The Dolphins have fired General Manager Randy Mueller, a source said Monday.

Bill Parcells, the vice president of football operations, held his first team meeting at 8 this morning in the Dolphins training facility auditorium. Coach Cam Cameron still is scheduled to speak to reporters at 12:15 this afternoon.

Mueller's tenure in Miami has been stormy. He joined the Dolphins in June 2005 and since then he went through the tumultuous exit of coach Nick Saban after two seasons. He took over full personnel decisions last January when Saban departed and then endured the worst season in franchise history.

Mueller previously spent two years with the New Orleans Saints and 17 years before that with the Seattle Seahawks. The Sporting News named him its Executive of the Year for 2000.
