Dolphins place franchise tag on DT Paul Soliai

According to @JasonLaCanfora on Twitter, Jason La Canfora is reporting that the Dolphins have placed the franchise tag on DT Paul Soliai.





I would have liked him in Dallas had he gone into free agency.

I bet. Do you know off the top of your head who the other 4 are?

I can't think of too many DT/NT's who make that kind of bank.

I would like a bit more of a space eater at nose if we're going to be more of a 2-gap, albeit a penetrating 2-gap. From what I understand, Brent is like Ratliff as an undersized athletic nose.

I think we need serious help along the defensive line if we're going to improve in 2011 on defense. I'm not sold on our defensive ends, and I think getting a space eater could potentially mean Ratliff to DE which I'm fine with, although he is one of the better nose tacks in the game right now.

Just saw this, was one of the guys I would have liked to sign, even though I know the Cowboys probably had no interest.
