I've never been a fan of tall lanky DEs like Dion Jordan. Just seems like basic leverage dictates he wouldn't be a good run defender.

Wait why would they trade him they just drafted the guy? What gives? What are they looking for in return? Makes no sense

Actually, longer arms allow them to shed blocks easier.

True. And of course allows for tough throwing lanes for QBs, but Jordan's arms are actually shorter than Dez.

Granted, Dez is sort of an anomaly in that regard and it's not by much, but Jordan's arms aren't that long especially for a 6'6" guy.

He just seems a little skinny. Like he doesn't carry the weight around his hips and thighs that indicate a powerful lower body and core.

Might just be an illusion. I'm no scout.

That's why he reminds me a lot of Aaron Maybin. You look at the guy, and he looks like the kind of guy that just needs to add 20 pounds, and he'll be a star. Problem is, the guy can't gain weight to save his life, and much like Maybin, won't make it if he doesn't figure it out.

They have a better DE on their roster in Olivier Vernon. He also is a questionable fit as a 4-3 DE. He is more of a 3-4 OLB.

Vernon is definitely a good DE, but Wake isn't going to be around forever. I don't see any situation where they actually let Jordan go. As we found out this year, you have to have depth along the lines if you're going to succeed. Worst case scenario, he's depth for another couple of years before they dump Wake's contract (due $8.2 million in 2015 + $3 million roster bonus).

That #3 is cursed. First Richardson, then Jordan. I'd probably pass unless we can somehow get him for Ware, Austin or Orton straight up. So it's a pass.

Dion Jordan has unlimited potential.. Could be a match made in heaven with Marinelli. Would still be a top 10 type player in this years draft.. I think he is better than Anthony Barr.

A few ideas that might be able to get it done.

Morris Claiborne + 4th Rd pick in exchange for Dion Jordan straight up

our 16th overall pick for Dion Jordan straight up
