Waited to get cut so he can keep the money.
He has already been paid the cash years ago for their dead cap (signing bonus and then a restructure) so he wouldn't have to pay any of that money back. Unless you're referring to him basically being mentally retired last season but stringing them along through rehab so he could get base rate for one more season (2022 season)

Really the only advantage to being cut vs retired is the Dolphins no longer hold the rights to him anymore, so he has more flexibility if he did want to return to football

Reminder that when the Cowboys let a player get away there usually isn't a lot left. Most bigger signings Byron Jones, Demarco Murray, Randy Gregory, Anthony Hitchens, La'ell Collins, Jaylon Smith haven't done much.

I guess there are a couple exceptions like Awuzie and Mike White come to mind recently.

Awuzie still not good he just on a good team. In his defense i think hes played out of position his whole career.

Say what you want, but imagine jumping 12 feet from standing still. It still boggles my mind.

After what he was saying, I wouldn’t pick him up….made it sound like he blamed the NFL, “don’t take their medications”…..as if the teams are TRYING to screw over the players. Dude became a multi millionaire only playing a few years and never has to work or want again. I get nobody likes to have physical ailments, but dude should know that it’s a possibility when u play several years and earning tons of money is a trade off.

Miami gave him 57 million guaranteed for less than two seasons of play.

Being free is a big deal.

Stay in shape and sign late in the season with a contender.

Ok, do people not know that according to the man's own words, he cannot run or jump right now? He tore his achilles last year and as of what, 2 weeks ago, he hasn't recovered at all and CANNOT RUN OR JUMP.

Is anyone really surprised by this move after Jones went public about the pills and injections, he has taken to get him gameday ready to play. He didn't mention what club was doling out the pills and injections, but having only played for two teams I guess a person could take their pick..............
