Assuming Jason Garrett is the head coach next year, does he bring in Dom Capers to be our defensive coordinator?

Give him the assistant head coach position so we can take him away from Green Bay?

What's wrong with the job that Coach Pasqualoni did ONLY with backups at defensive end, nose tackle, and throughout the secondary? First week signees held up the powerful Giant running game, when Bradie James came to play. Pasqualoni's attention to detail is a major asset for this team...

I wouldn't mind if we scrapped the 3-4 and brought in someone who coaches an attacking 4-3. Someone familiar with the Buddy Ryan/Rex Ryan defense.

I agree, I think our personnel fits a 4-3 MUCH better than a 3-4.

I've said it many times. Move Ware and Spencer on the line, and you don't have to worry about covering tight ends or running backs. And you don't have Ratliff pushed around on the line. You get a kitchen sink type player, a real anchor next to Ratliff, that can demand a double team. You free up Ratliff AND Ware and really handcuff opposing teams offenses.

Right now what teams want to do is chip ware with a tight end, and double team ratliff up the middle.

Ratliff as a DT in the 4-3, would be prolific.

you then get 1-2 linebackers extra.

Either put Bradie James in the weakside position, where his duties in coverage are really limited. I don't think he is fast enough for the position though. But certainly having Ware there would free him up.

Ratliff and Ware talk bringing back Lett and Haley memories.

Our players simply aren't suited for the 3-4.

Our linemen simply don't have the presence that allows our linebackers to get through the los.

We often say Brooking is garbage at blitzing, and maybe he is, but the reason he gets stone walled at the line is because the linemen aren't taking up blockers.

All 3 linemen in a 3-4 need to be the type of players that demand double teams. Its supposed to be like having 3 defensive tackles on the line. Spears and Olshansky don't demand anything.

The reason why we get abused by mobile QBs and killed on screens is because our linebackers aren't quick enough. Both Spencer and Ware are defensive ends playing linebacker, and brooking and james are just slow.

You have 4 players who aren't built for coverage playing a coverage position... it KILLS us.

It would be amazing what would happen if we fielded 3 linebackers who were competent in coverage playing behind a defensive line that could consistently get pressure.

Karl Dunbar is another coach I would like to see become our defensive coordinator.

Its hard to imagine because I don't know who is available but look at this

WLB - MLB - Lee
Ware - Ratliff - NT - Spencer

I would like to see us go back to the old Tom Landry 4-3 Flex defense.

I don't know that a defense that can't get lined up with a standard 3-4 alignment is going to be able to handle the flex. As I understand it, the reason nobody runs it now is because it takes forever to install and post-free agency defenses aren't together long enough to make it work.

I'm a 4-3 guy, I like smaller agressive LB's. The beauty of it is, great players for a 4-3 are a dime a dozen. The area 5-15 yards down field in our pass defense is open season.

Did anybody catch Sensy in run defense last night? he flat stinks.

I don't think it works quite that way.

We would actually have a better chance of seeing Norv and his staff fired and hiring Rivera to be the D-C. Look at the Charger's defensive stats and look at the talent they have. It's really just as impressive as the Packers because the Chargers don't have a Clay Matthews or a Charles Woodson. Instead they have a Kevin Burnett and Antoine Cason.

I think assistant head coach is a promotion, so you can hire someone and its not considered a lateral move.

speaking of norv turner though, id love if we were able to get him as an offensive coordinator under garrett. with him calling the offense, I wouldn't mind garrett as head coach at all.

Get John Fox as DC he runs a 4-3

He would be my first choice of whats out there, he would givs us some serious fire. Rivera would be another choice, but I think he and Norv make a run and stay put.

I agree. We had many guys missing and Pasqualoni had to account for that and adjust accordingly. People here and talk about Eli and the Gaints being over rated all they want but the fact is that is a quality offense that can put up points. If someone told me that McCann and Scandrick would be playing starting roles within the game I would say our chances would be slim in winning and yet both guys did a good job yesterday
