Dak needs to step up……
Dak played absolutely abhorrently
:lmao: :facepalm::rolleyes:

Dak did what he needed to do. CD dropped at least 3 passes that were catchable. They were very tight passes, but still, he should've caught them.

He missed on one bad throw, and one read that I know of. Other than that, on the road, on grass where he supposedly struggles, and against last year's #1 ranked D, with no preseason, he played pretty damn well. You haters who like to knock on him say that he stares down his first read too much. He threw to EIGHT different receivers today.

Wow, just wow…he did not miss that many passes. Oh, the money means he needs to be perfect.
Go look at all the other highly payed QBs performances.
59% and 5.6 YPA and 85 QB rating is not worth $230+ million

Things started slow and outside of a couple drives looked like the offense couldn't get much going. But in the second half the offense looked much much more like mid season form. The defense shined all game as did special teams units. Complete win in all phases of the game.

I think Zeke looked very good. Dowdle not so much at first. Had some decent runs later on. Just a few though.
Very good is probably a stretch when he did 10 rushes for 40 yards. I would say he looked okay. You would hope he has better games and you would expect a couple worse games.

 One freaking game so far with no preseason game plays…..well ok then…hate away…

I don’t know about you, but as a true fan, I will take that and the win…how about you…will you take that, or just whine?

Are you not happy that we won?

1st game, without any preseason game snaps. For the entire starting offense. I will take what he and the team accomplished.

Dak missed way too many passes today. Now that he is signed for huge money, he should be better.
Looking at his stats today matched overall; above average and that is all
It was game one and he didn't play in the preseason. He didn't have any interceptions and had two rookies protecting him. While he's overpaid, he played well enough for the team to win soundly. Be happy with that. It'll get better during the season.

This was a convincing win.

But the Cowboys can't expect to win consistently with such mediocre stats by WRs and RBs.
Dak did spread his throws among EIGHT receivers. (I love this!)

The other thing, is how did we dominate even with some engine pistons not 100%? What is your take, handsome CZers?
Alright you handsome, pompous dolt. Notice I did say "handsome." Lol ;) I won't ever call you a hater anymore. This proved you're not.

You did say CD will catch a lot but also drop a lot. He dropped at least 3 balls. Not easy catches since they were in double coverage but throws he should catch. With Zeke jumping over the defender on the first play, I have hope for him. When's the last time we seen that? They didn't have to use him all that much, so I'll wait until I say we have mediocre RB's.

Cheers!

Oh so now it's a team game. We lose and it's all Dak. We win and Dak was a small cog. Yall are supposed to be in Canada after the extension? Why are all these Dak h8ers still here? There is no hope, remember?

MVP stats don't count but these do. Nice.

It's bad enough yall lose context after a loss, but to not have it with a win is embarrassing.

There have been enough people who have broken down the data that shows for veterans there is no discernable difference between playing in the preseason and not as it pertains to rust. He is a 8 year veteran he falls under that.

I would mostly put it on the fact that the Browns are a good defense. They will almost certainly finish top 10 so looking okay is still good. The offense itself looked okay which is fine considering again that it is a very good defense. They got a lead and then let Watson be the washed up QB that he has been shown to be for years now and won easily.

OK since I am 4 Old Englsh to celebrate a good first step. Hey chap.
I am worried on 2 fronts. OK lout, it is not good to rely on Sequel.
And 2 before this game the last time Dak and CD played in Jan there was tension betwix the two. TensiOn with a capital O! I wonder if there are harsh feelings there. Will they connect better? I posed these questions to Edmond the butaneman and he said "Ph--- I dont care."
But you should care.

Not insignificant that Lamb skipped the entire preseason. He's had a few slow starts early in the season as well. Lets see the WR stats when he's fully up to speed.

Yes they can. Perfect teams and perfect performances consistently do not exist.

The Cowboys are an elite team.

Problem is they suck in the playoffs.

But they can most definitely win with what they got.

The problem is them performing on a big stage in January.

Zeke's step today was more sprightly than I was expecting.

Wasn't sure what to expect from Lamb, after his camp AWOL. But, he made an impact when he needed to.

Never look at stats when a game is this one-sided. Once the defense showed it was going to smother the Browns' offense Dak and the entire offense went into "just don't screw it up" mode. That said it was also clear there was some rust needing to be knocked off from the whole no playing in preseason thing. From about the middle of the second quarter on I think McCarthy was calling plays like it was the 4th preseason game.

This might be the most positive post I've ever seen from you. And you are correct.. we have to wait until January to see if this bunch can clear the mental hurdle of playing January football. It absolutely is not physical. And even if it ever was, this version of the Cowboys is built different. They're bigger and stronger on the o-line and the linebackers are actual linebackers not safeties masquerading as linebackers. We all know without Chubb the Browns were not going to provide a true test of the biguns up front on the defense but we get that the next two weeks. But we can't win in January until January.. so let's enjoy the ride now and just keep one eye peeking at January for now!
