Don’t expect good draft return for Gallup

We arent doing it with or without Pitts. What I do know is the only chance we have at being a contender is a better defense though. Getting Pitts wont turn us into some unstoppable offense no matter what you Pitts fans think.

Trying to play defense in the NFL is nearly impossible and some 20 year old isn’t going to make us that much better.

I think this about right, so you keep Gallup hope he balls out then make a decision after the season.

CIN and MIA need WRs majorly.
CIN: Get Gallup trade back to #10 and draft Slater....Sewell or Slater n Gallup.
MIA: Get Gallup and DeVonta Smith at 10. Pitts/Chase or Smith and Gallup.

Word is Mac Jones is going 3rd. Would be interesting draft if he makes it to 10.
Could be yeah....as far as Jones at 3....which is nuts IMO but ok.

Obviously we are rooting for guys like Fields and the NDSU kid whose names escapes me at the moment...to either go high and push someone to us, or be there for a deal down.

Ok. Agree to disagree. We can take Pitts I dont care. But dont tell me about a trade up. Thats so ridiculous. Nobody is trading up for a tight end

Thats why it seems pointless to spend high picks and/or cap dollars on corners.

But...if you're not a Parsons fan (and I'm definitely not) and you want a defender early, where do you go with pick 10?

Talk about no man's land as far as need.

They really need to get out of there.

I see thread after thread about being able to trade Gallup for a top draft pick and can’t for the life of me figure out why.

He’s a very good but not Pro Bowl esque WR and he’s going into the last year of his deal.

You can find guys like him anywhere in the first 3-4 rounds of the draft ESPECIALLY considering the savings to the cap.

I really like Gallup in this offense and with the cap going up maybe they find a way to keep him around, but he’s not a #1 WR like people think. He’s never had more than 6 TDs in a season.

You could probably get a 4th-5th round pick for him. Gallup is the perfect personification of how WRs are like RBs used to be. You can plug any good one in and get close to 1,000 yards.

The reason you want to trade him is the same reason teams won’t give up the farm for him.
Exactly. I’d rather keep him and collect the comp pick after the season. At least then he might contribute to a playoff run, the WR’s are stacked and I want to see what it can yield.

He’s not really just a tight end though and he will constantly give us great matchups on the field against any defense.

If defenses ever had to account for Zeke they would have no chance to stop us.

The defense is going to be a bend dont break style imo anyways and you don’t need great defenders to pull that off.

Yeah, I find it funny too, but the experts are saying Mac at #3. It would be good if all those QBs go before 10.

I've been saying Mac Jones is the 3rd best QB since before Dak got his contract. I don't know if fields and Lance will end up being better, but right now they're both first read quarterbacks, Jones isn't. That doesn't mean Jones will be any good, hell, Trubiski wasn't a first read QB either. But it means he's better prepared from the get go.

He's a good young player, but his contract his about to expire which is probably why a team wouldn't give up a top pick for him.

I would guess a 5th rounder?

This would be the time to trade the player. Going into his last year. But I'm hoping Jerry gives him an extension. If he waits until after this year, he's gone to FA. Same with Gregory. He'll be a lot cheaper right now.

I saw on NFL Network... I think it was Daniel Jeremiah said:

What are the top 2 attributes that Jones brings to the table? Accuracy and processing information. Those two are also the most important attributes needed in Kyle Shanahan’s offense.

He went on to say that he finds it believable that San Fran moved up to 3 to insure they got Mac Jones.

I also think that very well might be what they intend to do. He isn’t the athlete that the other’s are but inside the construct of Shanahan’s offense, he’s not going to be playing off schedule very often anyway. As long as he can roll out to the left or right before delivering the ball, he’ll do well in that offense. And because of his accuracy and his processing, he will quickly get it to to right person where they can get YAC.

I really do think that’s who they moved to 3 for, as crazy as that sounded a month ago.

It would not surprise me a bit. Watch them play. Watch all of their highlights. Three QBs go through their progressions when need be. Fields and Lance rarely if ever do. I wouldn't even draft Lance in the first 3 rounds.

You can even go back and look at all of Johnny Manziel's highlights. That's all he did. First read then either run or break out of the pocket for a busted play. You can live on that in college. That has to change in the NFL.
