Good. Stick around so we can laugh at your hot takes.

You didn’t know who Emmanuel Forbes was last week and now you’ve started a thread saying not to be surprised if we draft a corner. :lmao2:
I don’t know any of the CB’s and not many of the players in the draft. So what. I can still start a thread about not being surprised if they pick a CB. It’s a position McFly, not a player. You’re reaching to stir up some ****.

The way I see it…..

Dial up a nice pass rush and we can win with the corners we have.

Or, have a meh pass rush, then it doesn’t matter who your corners are, you’ll eventually be beat.

Unless a guy like Gonzalez or Witherspoon inexplicably slips to 26 somehow, it’s time to give it a rest with the high picks on corners.

Depends on the offense they’re playing. Many teams use 4 receiver sets. I guess they don’t do that in Madden?
Many teams will use 4 WR sets sometimes and you may or may not have a 4th CB on the field when they do but that doesn't make that player a starter.

Wanting to use our 1st round pick to fill a 4th CB role is very Rockportish of you.

I think your opinion is fair. I also see the logic in drafting a CB in R1-2 if you think they have shutdown potential. I don’t see the logic in suggesting that drafting a CB anywhere is dumb. IMO, there is a difference between depth v lot of bodies.

Diggs is set, Gilmore is temporary, I like Bland in the slot, and Lewis may be gone after the draft or next year.

If the Cowboys view it the same way, who replaces Gilmore? It would be great if Joseph, Wright, or someone else from our “deep” bench stepped up but I have a hard time visualizing it right now. If we didn’t grab Gilmore, would opinions of CB need be different?

I am 100% on board with grabbing a CB somewhere in a stupid deep class. If everyone stays healthy and he doesn’t get starter snaps but learns under Gilmore, I’m good with that as well.

Thank you. That’s a compliment. By the way I didn’t say I wanted a CB, just don’t be surprised if they take one. I’d rather have a trench guy.

You said CB is a need. It's not a need. It's the deepest position on our roster.

We can agree to disagree.
I don't see how you can disagree. You have Diggs and Gilmore as starters. You have Bland and Lewis as the 2nd team. Joseph and Mukuamu as the 3rd team. Show me another position on the roster deeper.

Lewis is good depth but not starter quality IMHO. Joseph and Mukuamu have not proven yet to be starter quality although Mukuamu looks like he might develop into one.

You keep saying this and questioning others who disagree. Is the hang up the word need? I’m not sure we technically “need” anything at this point.

Does “deepest position“ mean bodies or talent? If we hadn’t grabbed Gilmore as a temporary solution, would your opinion on “need” change? What if they have different plans for Lewis this year or next? What if they see Bland in the slot (my preferred position)?

IMO, Gilmore is a stopgap, Bland is your starting slot, Lewis could be gone, and I see nobody from that 3rd group I would project as a likely starter.

Show me a team that has 6 starter quality corners.

We barely have any DTs, we have one Center, 3 at the most at WR, a horrible starting QB and nothing behind him, one real RB, zero starting TEs and you're in here talking about what a need CB is. The deepest position on our roster.

I mean, they probably will draft a cornerback because this front office sucks and that's what they do. Which is why their mascot here is talking about what a need it is.

And you predicted less than 8 wins last year. So you have no credibility. :lmao2:

It’s not being talked about much but CB is a need. The Cowboys only have Bland, Diggs and Gilmore as starters. Don’t be surprised if they pick a CB in the first or second round.
It was the most discussed position 2 months ago...

Jourdan Lewis should be back as well.

My favorite guy is Julius Brent’s from Kansas State. However, he is likely going 1st or early 2nd. Darius Rush or Tyrique Stevenson are two names to watch on day two.
Brent's got smoked at the Senior Bowl 1-on-1 drills.
