18 G Jonathan Cooper North Carolina Sr. 6-2 311
Texas safety Kenny Vaccaro, Alabama offensive tackle D.J. Fluker or one of the remaining first-round defensive tackles all would make sense based on need. But Cooper is likely to be the highest rated player remaining on the board in this scenario, and the Dallas offensive line could use a stud about now.

And because it makes so much sense JJ wont do it. He is going to let his new D Coordinator talk him into a shiny new safety.

I read recently that Cooper could add 20-30 lbs and still maintain his quickness. If that is true, I don't have a problem with the pick. The same has been said about Tyron, but he hasn't gained the weight. A few extra pounds would have helped him against the bull rush this year. I really don't want Dallas to get stuck with a bunch of small linemen and then decide to change to a power/man scheme.

He ht/wt at the combine was 6-2, 311.

Adding 30 lbs would put him at 341 lbs. At 6-2, that would be incredibly heavy.

Some random top level NFL Guards:

Logan Mankins 6-4, 310
Jari Evans 6-4, 318

Callahan's Guards with the Jets:

Matt Slauson 6-5, 315
Brandon Moore 6-3, 305

LTs:
Joe Thomas 6-6, 312
Ryan Clady 6-6, 315

Tyron Smith 6-5, 308

Tyron Smith could stand to gain about 5 lbs.

You know that made a little curious about what exactly Tyron is capable of being and what he'll likely be sitting at weight wise when it's all said and done and i've just come to one conclusion.....

Tyron is a freak of nature, even by NFL lineman standards.

There's a picture of him on the internet shirtless at around 290 pounds and you can see abs....that doesn't happen. And he was 19 or something at the time. Mind blown.

Compare his body structure to Ryan Clady or Joe Thomas. They're elite tackles but physically they aren't even close.

Tyron was sitting naturally at 285 after the 2010 season and even after a mad bulk, adding 22 pounds to his frame in 5 months, he still posted very similar measurables to Joe who sat naturally at 310.

As he gets older and starts to hit his prime, continuing to add muscle and build strength, I wouldn't doubt that he eventually settles in at around 320 while still maintaining his athleticism.

I wasn't really a fan of drafting a guard in the first, but the more I read about Cooper the more I'm liking the idea of Cooper/Tyron playing next to each other for the foreseeable future. That duo could be pretty deadly.

I don't know what weight Gil Brandt was going by. Cooper could settle between 320-330lbs without slowing him down in his opinion. Tyron needs more than five pounds. The first helf of the season he was walked back into the QB quite a bit. The added bulk would only help him. I don't buy into these smaller linemen. A good big man will beat a good small man every time.

Something just don't sound right about that statement...
