Our offensive line is our biggest problem, the problem with drafting an offensive line in the first round is they are extremely hit or miss. There are very few offensive linemen that are "can't miss". Those guys are worth a #1 and a top 5 #1 at that. Think Orlando Pace, D'Brickashaw Ferguson, and this year's Joe Thomas. Steve Hutchinson (17th overall) wasn't a top 5 and while he was very good, him being this good wasn't a sure thing. Leonard Davis was drafted #2 that year because someone (Cardinals) got over-zealous. It's crazy to draft a 370lb guy with the #2 pick overall. I don't care how great he seems, that kind of wieght is going to catch up with you. I think we've seen that from Davis.
If I was #1 pick in the draft, I would take Joe Thomas. For me to take anyone else on the offensive line in the first round, he would have to be the best player on the board.
