If Brown dropped that far, Dallas would be tripping over themselves to get the card to the podium. You just can't let talent like that pass by. I've talked to a few people who prefer Brown to Thomas.
If he was so good why would he be available at 22!:laugh2:

Why does everyone feel McQ is the real deal? What has he done to prove that?

You guys really want to leave your LT to a 7th rounder???

LT is a position we'll need to address. Drafting one isn't a bad idea ... even if we drop him at OG for a year to learn the ropes.

Yeah! You're right. It makes no more sense to believe a 7th rounder can be a good left tackle than it does to believe a non-drafted quarterback can ever be the starter for the Cowboys. Don't you agree?

Jerry is not going to leave his new OC Garrett without weapons. He'll address the OL in free agency and draft Bowe, the wr from LSU in rd 1.

Our offensive line is our biggest problem, the problem with drafting an offensive line in the first round is they are extremely hit or miss. There are very few offensive linemen that are "can't miss". Those guys are worth a #1 and a top 5 #1 at that. Think Orlando Pace, D'Brickashaw Ferguson, and this year's Joe Thomas. Steve Hutchinson (17th overall) wasn't a top 5 and while he was very good, him being this good wasn't a sure thing. Leonard Davis was drafted #2 that year because someone (Cardinals) got over-zealous. It's crazy to draft a 370lb guy with the #2 pick overall. I don't care how great he seems, that kind of wieght is going to catch up with you. I think we've seen that from Davis.

If I was #1 pick in the draft, I would take Joe Thomas. For me to take anyone else on the offensive line in the first round, he would have to be the best player on the board.

I see Nelson falling. I remember last year Jason Allen and Ko Simpson sitting all over draft boards in the 1st round, both eventually falling drastically.

Rumor has it that the Lions will take Calvin Johnson to team up with Roy Williams

I am amazed at how completely on crack Matt Millen is.

we sign a solid, veteran OG to replace Rivera as the starter at RG, we don't need to use a 1st on an Olineman

Gotta agree with summer here.

Jerry has never used a first on an o-lineman.

The only way we use a first is if someone very special drops. Otherwise there is generally better value later and in FA.

I didn't say there weren't weaknesses, just not ones that a rookie will fix

Players do not remain rookies and sooner or later you address it. If you draft an OL man and he sits a year then so be it but I would hope we will start looking for correct problems on the line instead of doing little to nothing.

I hope your wrong. If we were talking a top 10 pick I would look at the skill position but with the 22nd pick I hope Dallas addressed the OL.

No kidding... I don't care how many years it's been since Dallas has taken an O-lineman with the first pick...

It's about time they did again!!

It fits their agenda. Guy had one decent preseason as a rookie and people think he'll be better than a 2 time probowler...typical of a lot of posters here though, you know that Eddie. Sort of like how Jason Garret is all of a sudden the next Tom Landry.

Special or even semi-special. How many years in a row have they whiffed on that one by waiting too late?

I'm not talking about rebuilding a team I'm talking about upgrading an offensive line that was not that good. We can't keep running offensive plays that force the QB to run for his life and make plays on the move. We also can't have our running game coming to a halt. Fact is against decent defense our line is getting pushed around. You either fix it or you continue to try and overcome it. Myself I think it is time Dallas made some real investments on an area of the team that has a lot to do with winning games and that is the Offensive line.

you said they can sit for a year, and a real investment would be getting players who can help you right away, which is solid, veterans

I think you use FA to help fill gaps but you draft for the future of your club.
