DALLAS COWBOYS
Demarcus Ware, DE, Troy, first round, 2005
If the Cowboys do build on their hopeful 9-7 record of last season and rip off a decent string of playoff appearances in the years ahead, we might be harkening back to their 2005 draft, when in the first four rounds they took three defenders -- Ware, LSU's Marcus Spears and Virginia's Chris Canty -- who fit nicely into their new 3-4 formation. Ware and Canty have a chance to be premier playmakers, ranging from sideline to sideline in pursuit of the ballcarrier and creating havoc for opposing passers
interesting shot at Spears.

Spears did not show that much last year- but then again DE's in the 3-4 usually do not show up in stats that much. BUT he certainly should be better then he was- we shall see.

Philadelphia - Freddie Mitchell

:lmao2:

Washington - Patrick Ramsey

Good to know that Don Banks thinks that bad decisions on the part of the Washington and Philly front staff are shaping their teams.

GO DON BANKS!!

Funny because down the stretch I thought Spears was playing better than Canty.

I really believe if Spears doesn't get injured, he's going to have very good year.

What the hell? This goon had to take a shot at TNew while assessing the Bungles. Palmer was a solid pick and is a franchise QB, but Newman is an elite corner in this league.

IMO Spears was set back with the training camp injury and took a little longer to catch up to what the best defensive coordinator in the NFL wanted him to do.

Towards the end of the season, Spears was just as productive as anyone. He looked great on the fumble return......

Interesting comment/observation. Spears wasn't a problem last year, and was "quiet" but I think probably pretty effective. Remember who he replaced and couldn't get back on the field for a lot of the second half of the season?

It doesn't surprise me that the out-of-town pundits don't know who Spears is, but I think the Canty/Spears bookends will be heard from a lot this year.
canty's story is probably better known, as he is/was the steal of the draft, and therefore got more press.

Spears is like Leonard Marshall. He will be solid against the run and make a few plays on 3rd down. He will allow the OLB on his side to roam and make plays. I do not think he will ever be the attention getter, unless we get a beast for a nose tackle somehow...

Are you saying Zimmer is the best defensive coordinator in the NFL?

Carson Palmer, going by at least last year, is an elite QB in this league. I dont care who you are, I will take an elite QB over and elite CB any day of the week/month/year.

How is considering TNew a possible number 1 pick "taking a shot at him?"

on NFL radio, the host of the opening drive said "I don't thin BP is sold on TNew", basically saying we will draft a CB in round 1. I find this idiotic. TNew is one of the most solid CBs in the NFL.
