Baylor was an interesting player.

To look at him later in his career you would come off thinking the was just another big-bodied DH-type but early on in his career the man could steal bases.

Made a career out of getting hit by pitches... And he'd never shrug or wince or move toward the mound. He'd get hit, toss his bat and go to first base.

His 1979 MVP is still debated about by the stat geeks and if he deserved it or not.

He was a lot like Barry Bonds, both played a different game in their youth and both went to power hitters later. One from steroids and the other from cheeseburgers

When Baylor was playing for the Yankees he had (or seemed to have) one of the biggest bats I'd ever seen, and he swung it like a man possessed.

RIP to Don and Darren Daulton of the Phillies who also passed away from cancer on Sunday.
They were great competitors. It’s wild - I have known 8 people in the past 5 years (including 3 family members) who have died from cancer. What are the odds???
