The Jets will not retain him. If Zimmer does leave, I'd love to have this guy as our D coordinator.

rathalarge said:They actually play a 3-4, with John Abraham listed as a 'Will' linebacker. He's just always in a down position to rush the passer every down
rathalarge said:On the Jets' website, Abraham is listed as a "Will". You will also see that they have four LB's, one position named 'Jack', same as Dat played her, the weakside ILB.
SkinsandTerps said:Abraham is a DE. I have no idea where he is listed as a LB, but he strictly plays DE and doesnt drop into coverage. His job is to rush the passer and try to contain the run.

It seems like a mistake.
The Jets play a 4-3. With Abraham being the RE.

sad_otter said:The Jets run a 4-3. When they first hired Henderson, he wanted to use more 3-4 looks, but backed off after they didn't have much early success with it. They didn't really stick with it long enough to get a good feel for how Abraham would be as a 3-4 LB.
summerisfunner said:I think you're right, I just remembered reading somewhere, sometime ago, that they ran both schemes, I know Jason Ferguson ran it 3 of the years he was in New York, but I guess they didn't run it this year then
