Im not an A&M fan, and they dont have similar games lol. Wilson can make plays in the box, but he is not a box S. Him making a couple plays that Kearse makes doesnt make them similar. In fact they are almost opposites as far as SS's
They are both great players, but they both have different strengths.
Kearse is 6’4” and covers a big area in zone coverage in the box. Usually a LB is played in that position. Big as a LB, but he can run like a DB. He also excels at covering tall tight ends due to his height.
Donovan is more of a traditional box safety that is super explosive coming down hill. He’s both a sure and willing tackler and decent at coverage. His quickness and aggressiveness make him special.
There isn’t much of a drop off with either guy in there. I like Donovan more and wish they would blitz him more. But, I also think Kearse wouldn’t have allowed some of the catches by the tightend today that Donovan allowed.
