Donovan Wilson's 2020 stats

He has looked pretty good so far.

Quinn found something using him a pass rusher in the blitz.

He was an aggie. It takes them awhile to find their way around. It's been said that the best thing to come out of College Station is highway 6.

The SS job is Wilson’s to lose. Kearse hasn’t been the most durable player and he can play FS too. I think they’ll use Kearse to spell both safeties.

Didn't the Mike Nolan regime have mere JAG Dorian Thompson starting over Donovan Wilson at the early part of the year, before finally replacing Thompson with Wilson ?

They'll use both, but Kearse is a better complete player than Wilson. I love Wilson and like his hard hitting. It's not the tackle numbers I'd look at, it's the missed tackles. But having both is a great problem.

I’d like to see Kearse slide down to LB some and take out LVE a little more. Though, I’m not as down on LVE as some. Just up on Kearse and having the best 11 out there.

This is the first time I recall Kearse missing games. Are you talking back before this time with the Boys

He’s always had a nose for the ball. I haven’t done the analysis yet, but I’d wager good money he has one of the higher career “splash” play per snap percentages on the team.

I think will likely be part of the plan. Kearse played almost exclusively in the box last year rather than as a traditional safety in true coverage.

I think most of those sacks and fumbles he caused were against Wentz too! Bring it this weekend 6

Yeah, Kearse is a very smart player too, might be why he had the green dot.

Last year was pretty much a lost year for him with him getting hurt twice. However in 2020 he looked like he could be a Pro Bowl caliber S

This is what he did in 2020 in 10 starts (674 snaps)

71 tackles. 2 Ints. 3 FF. 3.5 sacks
As long as he can stay relatively healthy he is a thumper and a play maker for us. He needs to be on the field in some capacity after Kearse comes back from injury.

He played the most snaps in game 1 of 2021 of any of the Safeties on the roster.
- i.e. Quinn mush have seen him as the top Safety coming out of camp.
- He played 85% of the snaps but likely would have played even more except he was injured late in that game.

Update: Last week Wilson missed tackling Barkley which lead to a 35 yard run touchdown. He missed another tackle afterwards. In short, who cares about stats from 2 years ago.
