Don't Be Suprised When the Eagles Blow us Out!

I think brucem78 has some valid reasons. The crowd will be loud and that will may well give Tucker and Pettiti lots of problems. I doubt we'll get the field position we had in our last game. And a young team such as our may be succeptible to over-confidence, which is unwarranted after beating the Cards. If we play good football as Champsheart outlined, I think we'll win. I think Brucem78 is wondereing if we will play that well, or will we be tired and lazy and figure the Eagles are dead as most of you seem to think...

I hate the Eagles! Almost as much as I hate the Steelers. But I just have a really bad feeling about this game. Like I said, I hope I'm wrong, But something tells me I'm right.

I always laugh at people who are doom and gloomers who try to get out of it by claiming "I hope I'm wrong".

Considering that before the last game against Philadelphia, Bruce said it would be "at least two years" before we could catch the Eagles, it's not surprising that he'd think they're going to blow us out this time. (Has it really been two years already since last month?)

I'm just wondering why Bruce didn't use the "angry" icon in his thread title, like has has in almost every one of his other threads.

The key to this game is to survive the first Quarter. I expect the Eagles to try to come out fast. Probably try to throw deep on us and establish R. Brown as the next TO. I expect a lot of screens to Westbrook. McCrap will try to scramble to buy time. The defense will probably blitz us to death, and I expect them to have some success during the first Quarter. After this, I don't expect anything more from them.

Realize this; the Eagles are playing poorly this year. McCrap is hurt. They lost TO. The Defense is playing the worst I've seen in years. No pass rush, bad secondary play, etc.... Losing their Center is a big deal. Eagles’ players have stated this in the news this week. They have no TE and have two young guys at WR. The OL can’t run block. This makes them very one dimensional.

This is a big game for both teams. In the past, I probably would be worried that the Cowboys would lose this game. I have been trained over the last several years to prepare myself for disappointment, but this year is different. The Cowboys have shown me something I haven't seen in a long time. They have a swagger to them. My confidence with this team is growing. Our defense is playing well and is still maturing as a unit. The Offense is also playing well. Losing Adams is a big deal, but Tucker hasn’t done well. Our break came at a really good time. This give us more time to prepare Tucker, Price, Heal some players, etc….

No team this year has dominated us. Why would the Eagles, who have all these problems, be the first team to do it? I don't buy it.

Minimal Penalties
No Turnovers
We will have to get a running game going
Get a couple turnovers
Protect Bledsoe
And Pressure McNabb

A recipe for winning ANY game in the NFL.

I would be a lot more concerned if I was more fearful of the philthy offense. Without TO thier offense just doesn't have the bite it did. Throw in the complete lack of an effective running game and I just see them having big problems putting up points, esp with the way our D has been playing.
Its not like a team that has had ZERO running game can just decide in two weeks, "hey, let's get a running game even though we haven't had one in years." Their running plays looked pathetic against Wash. I think we'll get a lot more pressure on Mcnubb than Wash did and we'll get him on the ground a few times.
McNubb did look fully healthy to me last game but I think if he struggles and gets hit early, he'll fold. Reggie Brown is good and I don't think we can underestimate him, but he's no TO.
The only thing that concerns me is our offense coming out lame, overly conservative, and penalty-laden. If JJ finds some running lanes, it'll be over early. If Lito Shepherd doesn't play better than he did against us the first time, it'll be over early.

Bottomline: I just don't think Philthy can put up very many points against us and I think we're capable of putting 24 or 31 on them. Our offense just needs to come out early and execute. Let's make it a replay of last meeting.

There is no way we lose to the Eagles Monday night. We have superior talent on offense and defense, not mention they are banged up.

The Eagles will be playing solely on emotion. Does anybody think BP doesn't realize this? He will have the Boys mentally prepared.

By the second quarter we will be dominating them on both sides of the ball.

I think Nors put it best...the only way we lose this game is if the team misses the flight to Philly.

I for one will not be a bit supprised if the Eagles win this game going away. We are coming off a bye week which can affect the way a team starts the game. The crowd will be extra loud which will cause Tucker and Pettiti to get off the ball late. If Drew is rushed early look for Parcells to pull the reigns in on the offense. I can see us having to play catch up all game long which plays right into the hands of Jim Johnson's defense. Turnovers will begin to pile up This one gets ugly early and gets even worse as the game goes on. I hope I'm wrong but I see Eagles 34 Cowboys 6. Put it in 3 Inch Headlines - "We Will Lose the Ballgame"

You must not be a "WE" with an outrageous prediction like that. Dallas losing is 1 thing getting blown out you got to be kidding!!!!

This game could be anything and go any way. Philly is going to be coming out with a vengeance in front of the home folks and wanting to prove they are as good as they were last year, when they were pretty good. I doubt it will be a blowout on either side and Philly now realizes this isn't the same old Dallas Cowboys of the last seven or eight years and they will expect a tough game. It could be a very physical game and the Boys need to win a physical game.

The fact that many on this board expect to win it tells worlds about where this team has come in the last year.

Though I don't always agree with him, my hat's off to Parcells for assembling a really good team in a fairly short time. For this team to be able to compete with Philly means it has already come a long way. This could be a very pivotal game.

Andy Reid's teams have been deep and he's always come up with someone good to fill the spot and his back is against the wall and there are cracks in it. The Eagles have lost a lot of talent lately and the route to recovery lies in beating the Boys on Monday. Probably neither team will play like it did before, but Dallas had better if it wants to keep their nemesis on the ropes. So far this year they haven't shown much killer instinct, except against the Eagles. Hmmmmm.

And they're going to be even better next year.

Philly simply can't score enough to blow anyone out right now, and even if we turn the ball over, which you suggest, I belieev our D will hold and make them attempt field goals with our castoff. Losing their center I think is another major blow to an already injury riddled team. Our D-line rotation will be able to do anything they want to on Monday. I do think it will be low scoring, but we win something like 20-13.

i agree with you, we have to stop thinking that our team is ready for the superbowl, we have to go step by step.
Remember we are playing at their stadium and it is MNF they will be very intense.
I thin we lose this one, and still finish the season with a winning record.
