Don't be surprised if Montee Ball is the pick at 47.

It was noted that if we went OL I. The first, that we'd be targeting Montee Ball in the second.

I'm not sure a lot of people will like the pick but I would love this pick.

I could live with it, but the amount of tread on the tires has me worried.

Yeah, I expect a RB at 47. Don't know if it's Ball, though.

Would rather the BPA at a position of need at 47 and a RB in 3 or 4.

Wasting our 2nd on a RB would just top off the whole draft.

.....great post...the poster above that mentioned the 'tred' Ball's tires being worn is SO right...multiple concussions at UW....just a bust waiting to happen. People do NOT have any common sense to think he's a better RB than Bell of MSU. Bell's Oline was so weak in comparison to Ball's at UW. Bell is big, physical and DURABLE. HE also catches the ball out of the backfield better than Ball. He also fumbles less than Ball; just NO comparison.

I'm with you. I don't want a RB at 47. Just saying what I believe they'll do.

Agree...running backs tend to fall in the draft so I think you can get good value in the 3rd or 4th rounds.

I would prefer Warford with that pick over Ball, but if Warford was gone, Ball would immediately split carries with Murray from day 1. Ball is a really nice back and likes running behind his center.

Wouldn't be my favorite, but it would signal a philosophy change towards a more run-oriented offense.

I like Monte Ball but he has been used to death at Wisconsin.

I wouldn't be surprised if Frederick was available at #47 too.

Could have been, but this is a strange draft, lots of other teams picks are all over the place as well.
Just more of a system draft this year, players that fit team scheme.

We are in a position to draft backups with our 2nd?

nearly every NFL team uses two backs - hard to call that a "backup" - realistically your 3rd corner, #3 WR, #2 TE, #2 RB, and 5th DL (in a 4-3) are all going to get a ton of snaps and ideally push for more PT

I think more that it is a draft where the difference between 20 and 50 or so is thin. Lets say teams evaluate players on a 1 to 100 scale there might be 30 or so guys with grades between 78 and 83. Even minor differences in evaluation or emphasis on one area or another is going to make for huge differences between the "experts" views and who gets picked in those spots
