Just a thought...

but if we get a certain positioning in the draft, Patrick Peterson is gone, Prince Amukamara is gone, and there isn't an offensive lineman worth taking on the board, and this guy it on the board:

Not that I think we need him at all...but how could you pass him up without a sweet draft-day trade deal?

Just saying.

*For the record, I don't think we'd draft him because of character issues, but stranger things have happened.

You will see the run on the DEs at about where I expect us to pick and that is what I am expecting us to grab.

My "dont be surpised" pick would be Alabama RB Mark Ingram.

I dont think either Barber or Choice are here next yr, and he very well may be the best player available where we draft (especially if its outside the top-10)

I'm not saying I want him over other positions of need, but I wont be surprised if we picked him either.

I agree with you especially if we end up picking in the 8-10 range but even more so outside the top 10 like you stated.

Lol, so I have to ask. Are you folks wanting or wishing we draft Mark Ingram in the first round?

That would be a horrendous pick.

neither, try playing along with the intention of the thread. "surprise pick". Otherwise a pick you would not expect but that is possible.

I dont remember anyone saying they wanted or wished that we drafted anyone in this thread.

Dez and Blackmon out wide with Miles in the slot.....

The NFL would not allow that.

BTW, I think a true surprise pick would be LaMichael James.

I think he'll declare this year.

I don't like 5'9" 180+ pound RB's that don't offer much as receivers no matter what their stats look like............That's in the early part of the first round.

Now if by some grace of god he found himself with out a job in Round 2 then make the call.

I'm pulling for Derek Sherrod right now. LT Mississippi State

He's going to rise close to or into the top ten, I predict. Teams always need LTs, and this one is experienced, big, strong, and athletic. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Dallas picked him in the top ten (at 7, 8, 9, or 10). He's the perfect left tackle for the Cowboys and Steelers. I think the Bears are watching him, but they will not sniff him.

This guy is a flat out stud, and he is a great run blocker. He can move. I saw him pull inside and destroy and spring a big run on Saturday. He's flying under the radar, because he doesn't play at Michigan or Ohio State or Florida or Alabama. The scouts want to see him finish some of his blocks a little bit meaner, but this guy has the tools.

He would fill a big need, and he is going to be a solid player.

If you nab him, you can move Doug Free to RT. You could play Sherrod at RT his rookie year, and move him to LT during his second year.

However, if Sherrod blocks the DEs at the Senior Bowl and has a strong showing, top 10 should be within his reach for sure. Plus, he will probably start at LT as a rookie, imo.

Co-sign.

Bruce Carter, OLB, North Carolina
Height: 6-3. Weight: 225.
Projected 40 Time: 4.55.

play him at ISLBER

He's a big-hitting linebacker with great range and athleticism

Ryan Williams**, RB, Virginia Tech
Height: 5-10. Weight: 206.
Projected 40 Time: 4.43.
Projected Round (2011): Top 25 Pick.

He runs with authority and really attacks the line of scrimmage

Lord, please. Having him and Felix would be illegal. We'd get flagged just for trotting them out into the same backfield.

Definitely would not mind this guy either. If Virginia Tech doesn't produce anything else, they produce CBs and RBs.

Free is in the top 7 lts this year. No.

This Free love is kind of disturbing. You can always improve, especially at an important position like LT.

I witnessed Free get blown up for the 2nd time at the goal line this past thursday.

I truly wonder how many times Id see him get blown back if I watched him and concentrated on him more. He just doesnt seem to have it when it comes to short down and distance.

If Dallas selects Blackmon, it's proof positive that their drafts are being run by Matt Millen.

If Sherrod has a good showing at the combine and individual tryouts; we could loose him to teams like Detroit, Buffalo. Detroit needs a LT to protect their young QB and Buffalo could use two tackles.

you realize we can play him at RT for a year or two then, best player gets LT in training camp the other is RT
