The defense really only allowed 23 points to the Eagles... 2 TD's and 3 FG's...

1 TD on Romo's End-Zone fumble.....

The other TD was a direct result of the Romo interception, and a blown call by the Refs... Romo's Interception returned to the 28 - very next play, Pass-Interference called on Henry, when it OBVIOUSLY should have been called Offensive-Pass-Interference on Lewis... Should have been 1st and 20 from the 38, instead it's 1st and goal from the 1 - TD Eagles... I dont put this one on the defense...

They only allowed 1 play of more than 20 yards...

The Eagles only made it past the 50 once in the 2nd half (not counting the drive they started at the Dallas 45, but did not score)...

4 sacks
10 QB Pressures
14 Hurries
259 Yards Passing
78 Yards Rushing
337 Total Yards
41% on 3rd Down - 0-1 on 4th Down

Not to be forgotten

- 1 damn nice Pass-Deflection by Mike Jenkins
- 3 times McNabb escaped from would-be sacks, we could've easily had 7 Sacks
- Terrance Newman barely played, I think we're holding up pretty well for being without him...

While I dont think the defense played great, I also know they didn't play as bad as many are making it out to be... Plus, some credit has to be given to the Eagles offense.... We need to force more Turnovers, but it's nice to be able to win, despite losing the Turnover battle... It's only been 2 games, the Turnovers will come...

One quick note on the Offense - Obviously Romo has to keep the Turnover's under control, and we need to keep those Penalties under wraps - BUT - To have 2 horrible Turnovers, a ton of Penalties, and still put up 41 points, that's explosive!

Oh don't forget to add Thomas great defensive play knocking down a deep pass on their TE. I think if he didn't do that that would have been six. When was the last time we had a linebacker knocking down a ball on a deep pass?

You would think after watching last year's Giants team that people wouldn't freak out.

Give the Eagles credit. They are a good team that was trying as hard to score as we were to stop them. I don't understand the hysteria over the D. The NFL rules favor the offense. It's unlikely we will see totally dominant defenses in the NFL again. Even the Bears great D of a couple years ago gave up points to good offenses.

Agreed.. heads up play by Thomas.. he's been a nice addition. We need to learn not to grab the face mask so much.

They did hold the iggles to 7 points in the 2nd half. Not bad after getting torched.
The concern for me for the D was the goal line defense ( I remember the Jenkins hold and the Henry interference but the goal line stands all gave up TDs and the iggles are not a power running team.)
