Don't draft RB in the 1st? What about LBer?

What's his point? I'd wager GB and Jax don't regret drafting either of those guys in '22. Walker was one of the best rookies in the league last year. 5 TFLs, 3 forced fumbles, 7 PDs, led them in tackles.

WR is tied with pass rusher as the 2nd highest paid position in the league. And not by accident. If you dont have them, you dont have an offense
Highest paid position does not mean you draft a WR in the first round, just for the sake of drafting one.
I think you draft based off grade ratings according to your draft board.

Mind you that teams vary when it comes to draft grades and value.
Some WRs will be on their draft boards, ..some WRs will Not be on their first round draft board.

I think you worry about "highest paid " when it comes time to negotiate that 2nd contract.

Pass rushers (especially 3 tech DTs) are always harder to find than wide receivers so they will be more of a premium demand.
And not going WR in the first round doesn't necessarily mean you're not drafting a WR early.
There's been a multitude of great FFL WRs that were picked in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.

There have been great players at every position drafted in the 2nd or 3rd rounds.

Who says we would be drafting one just to draft. There is a need. Gallup is probably gone next season and Cooks is a speed WR nearing 30. We could definitely afford to take a WR in the first

Of course you have to stick to your board to an extent. But if a premium position player is available and is within a few rankings if a RB / OG / S etc you take the premium position…every time.

There's not a pressing need for a WR in the first round, imo.

WR depth ? yes, .. but not a press to draft a WR in the first round.
Only way i could even see an exception, (ala CeeDee Lamb despite Amari Cooper and Gallup on the roster) - is if somehow a super blue chipper per Cowboys brain trust,
managed to vastly slip that far down to our 26th spot, that pure draft value sense says we just cannot bypass the dynamics to pass him up ..

Agreed. That's the exception. ala CeeDee Lamb, despite Amari and Gallup already on the roster.

All this drafting a running back in the 1st round is ridiculous. If Robinson is there at 26, you flat out take him. There is Robinson and then there is everybody else. If the league gives the Cowboys Robinson, it could very well translate into championships plural. I hope that it does. I would love watching it happen.

Yea. There aren’t any blue chippers this year outside or Anderson and Carter IMO so zero chance this year.

It doesn’t have to be a blue chipper for me. If a top 20ish DE / OT / WR / CB falls Id take that player 10 times out of 10 over Bijan or the top G / TE in this class.

You would pass on Robinson and give him to the Eagles? You very well would be giving yourself a lot of pain.
