This Cowboys team doesn't look like one that might eat the Cheese. However, they are playing with such swagger and confidence that it really frees them up to play loose and fast.

After watching Arizona sneak by GB today after blowing a huge lead and thumping NO physically in their own stadium already this year, I really like our chances in the NFC title game if we can get by Minny this Sunday.

I think The Cowboys and Vikings are the only teams still playing any tough defense at all, and clearly the Vikings are not nearly as tough in the secondary as we are with their best CB dinged.

I know the players and coaches have to look at one game at a time, but I'm already licking my lips at the prospect that the winner of this Sunday's matchup may roll right through to the SB.

That game today had the worst defense i have ever seen. The db's weren't covering ANYBODY. Pretty funny though that the game was won on a defensive touchdown, as lousy as they both played all day

LOL that was priceless! I've always liked offensive games more than defensive struggle type games. I loved this one.

Of course it goes without saying that I don't want any team to score against the Cowboys.

What I'm looking for from this team moving forward is the ability to maintain our current swagger -- great term, by the way, for what we have right now -- but to demonstrate the ability to really be critical of any weaknesses we are showing.

Primarily, penalties. I hope the players/coaches can barely stand watching the film of last night's game with all the penalties and self-imposed mistakes. I think a great sign of maturation is when you can accomplish something really special yet see all the flaws some might be willing to overlook.

If we didn't have the penalties we had last night -- especially on the first offensive drive where we reached the 1 or 2-yard line but ended up being pushed out of field goal range; and the second defensive position where Hamlin's PF gave Philly breathing room -- we might have buried them by the end of the first quarter.

I don't care for all that "don't eat the cheese" crap... Parcells era is over honestly, Dallas is ready to establish it's legacy.

I agree with the OP up to a point. We are going to have at least one tougher game ahead of us where we will need to play like the NO game. My guess is it will be this weekend although I don't want to seem callous about either AZ or NO.

I think these players are smart enough to know the media likes to build them up just so they can rip them up if they don't win their last game. Now that the streak is over, that's the last card they have left. If they lose next week or any other week, we'll get spoon fed "what caused the Cowboys collapse" stories for several weeks, whereas other teams just go off the map once their season is over.

I think Parcells was referencing the media when he made that comment, and it's good advice. If the media was wrong about Dallas not winning a playoff game, where did their sudden brilliance come from?

But I'm pretty sure this team has been through enough ups and downs to see reporters for what they are. They know the game, and it's as predictable as the weather.

Probably moreso.

Yeah...

I do see what you mean by the holding calls, false starts and all, but you know...and perhaps I'm alone in feeling this way (not sure as I haven't read this board since last night), but...I didn't mind the personal fouls at all last night.

That defense was playing with such confidence and aggressiveness...and with some attitude...that I hardly think those penalties would have ever mattered anyway. The defense busted some heads last night. They were the bullies. They hit the Eagles in the mouth.

And so they got a few personal fouls.

They were worth every penalty yard if you ask me...
