DeCamillis

Yeah, of course if you get a field goal blocked at the end of regulation, you have to assess blame on someone. And Tom Coughlin calling timeout to ice Dan Bailey not only worked then, but it gave defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul time to come up with a new plan. He went right over the deep snapper this time to block the kick and save the win.

I let him go

and the whole Secondary staff

does he get credit for when his guy went over the snapper to block a kick earlier in the season or do we just chalk it up to a guy made a great play?

I am over DeCamillis, I think the only reason he has a job is Jerry feels guilty about him getting hurt. He is not a good special teams coach and special teams has performed poorly all year.

There is no excuse for the FG unit failing to execute the exact same play on successive downs two weeks in a row.

Short answer...No

In the same way that JG doesn't deserve credit when Romo scrambles around and throws a deep completion, DeCam doesn't deserve credit for that. Furthermore, the fact that you can point to one great play by the ST speaks volumes about how bad it's been as a whole.

Special teams have been bad for like three years now. I still think he's at least partially responsible for the kicking debacle since it's been his unit. Done a decent job with Bailey I guess...but that doesn't excuse all the other flaws on the ST units.

I keep forgetting that the other team's player never makes a great play, it has to be someone's fault.

That block was still Holland's fault. JPP went between him and the snapper and Holland didn't even seem to try and block him.

That's not what I said. My comment had nothing to do with JPP's block.

FWIW...I think that a blocked kick is always a result of blockers not doing their job.

But Joe D as a whole hasn't done a good job. Anemic return games, inconsistent coverage units, and poor kicking games. This has nothing to do with the blocked FG last night.

That block was all about a guy making a great play. Nothing more

What about the blocked punt in NYJ game? When did our special teams won us a game or game turning play?

It has nothing to do with the block for me, but Joe D needs to go. He's awful.

We've had no KR or PR game all year. 2 of our losses have been heavily influenced by a blocked punt and a blocked field goal.

McBriar has been up and down, but in his defense, he is injured. Still, 2 shanked punts in crunch time.............

Thank god for Bailey or special teams would be a disaster.

I thought the field goal we blocked was a big play, maybe not.

Bad Punt - McBriar
Didn't put an explosive return man when the Giants were backed up 15 yards on the kick off.
Could not execute a simple kick.

DeCam should get an injury settlement , buy a farm in the country, move there and retire there.
