Guy, dont forget, it doesnt matter what Parcells does, sure, I dont want to see him leave, I think with him, we are a year away from contending, a good offseason, and draft. Yet, I heard that Jerry Jones went into the locker room, giving the team an ultimatentum, to win, go out at 10-6, with good record, that the players promised Jerry Jones to deliver the game, the defense showed up in my mind, but again, the offense, couldnt beat a high school team again. I heard that Jerry Jones yelled at Parcells and the team, was extremely upset. Also, heard that Parcells hands were tied about getting a kicker this year, remember this came out this year that Parcells stated, that his hands were tied about QB, that Jerry Jones wanted to see his Hutchinson, Q Carter, etc, so what if, to some degree Parcells hands are tied, to some decisions, and now, Jerry Jones may go another direction as head coach. Because to me, if we get another head coach, style changes, etc, and you have to start partially over again, I am thinking, maybe its Jimmy Johnson coming back, like Michael Irwin stated, he knew something, but couldnt say what it was, and that Terrell was going to play for the Cowboys too.
I do agree with Parcells, with the draft coming up, bowl games right now, Senior Bowl coming up, Parcells if he is still retained, he needs to be looking at those players, etc. Sure, his batteries need recharging, but you got to look at players, have a plan, and right now with all the head coaches being fired, their might be good assistant coaches to be had. I think we need a dominant offensive line coach, and a dominant linebackers coach, maybe a dominant defensive line coach.

If what you say indeed happened, if I'm Parcells I wouldn't take it. I certainly wouldn't stay any longer if my hands tied behind my back. I've also heard Jerry tell Parcells he wanted to find out if either Quincy or Hutchinson were future QBs with Cowboys and Parcells agreed to wait and see. As result we wasted first 2 years. If Jerry also unwilling fund good PK, somebody should drop him in the deep end of a swimming pool. If Parcells doesn't come back, I believe that would be as disaster. We'd have to start all over again with new HC (and who knows who Jerry brings in and don't buy Jimmy Johnson who unable take a good Dolphin team to SB in his 4 years). Do we change back to 4-3 which means we gotta start all over on defense, etc. Stupid move which would only continue the instability in this organization which desperately needs stability. We have Switzer for 4 years, Gailey for 2 years, Campo for 3, and now Parcells for 3. Constantly changing schemes, coaching staff, players.

Those wanting to get rid of Parcells remind me of similar like people who thought losing Adams was good because we have a better backup behind him -- well we all know what happened at that position. Then we have the guys who wanted get rid of Dat -- we all know what happened there and of course don't forget Singleton -- some people got their wish and again the replacement did not live up to Singleton's performance and he was only a solid player. Need to get real; Parcells needs another season to get our offense up to level of defense so we can win division and at least 1 playoff game. Then Parcells can leave us in safe hands with recommendation to Jerry on who should succeed him. We need 1-2 OL changes, WR, PK, FS & LB; we can fill a little of these positions in the draft and FA. Look to FA for PK, FS & LB & draft for OL improvement & WR.

This team has building blocks, young talent and our future is forward.

To "dump" Parcells and let JJ get back in the seat sets this decade back another decade.

Lets all hope Parcells comes back and influences another draft. We made the 3-4 move and damn near made playoffs and played with the best in NFC. Lets not digress......

I'd rather eat fungus than beets.

Never mind, that's another thread.

That is what a friend of mine said that he heard on cowboys post game show, after game, that jerry jones went into locker room at halftime, and gave ultimatenum, and players promised him they would play to win. I did see the defense play, but again, the offense didnt show up, some of them, key culprits on my mind were Tucker-whom should have done better, a 3 year player, Petti-I think he just needs time, i know he got blown away, but i use Erik Williams as an example, he didnt play his first year, he came into his own 2nd year, i am not saying petti is that good, but i think he can be solid, and al johnson, and blocking TE's, TE need to block better period, and to some degree Julious Jones, did you see that big run he made, only after Barber had been in awhile, to me, its the same problem on offense, some guys just dont have heart, or desire, thats the problem, they show up sometimes, but not all times.
To the QB situation, Parcells did say this year, when he came in, Jerry Jones told him that He had money spent on Hutchinson, Q Carter, and he wanted them evaluated the first year, so behind the lines, Parcells hands were tied. Remember 2nd year, Parcells got Testerverde. My friend said that after the game, on the cowboys website, post game, with Drew Pearson on, that his hands were tied to the kicker situation, I dont know why, but thats what my friend said, was spoken over the radio. Because if you remember Parcells fired our kicking coach that year. And I do remember Jerry Jones saying this year, on some talk show, that he had money spent on QB's hutchinson, and Q Carter, and he wanted them evaluated before they spent more money on another Qb. So, what I am saying, maybe Parcells hands or he agreed to some things that Jerry wanted.
Back to Jerry Jones, Jerry did say on the game, that changes were coming, but he didnt specify what, I do think, i listened to Mickey and Jones on talking cowboys this morning, and they said, Jerry Jones, is keeping Bledsoe and going forward. I am thinking, maybe some changes are coming, but what I dont know, to me, its the ho hum attitude that you need to change on some players, to me, Bledsoe, Keyshawn, Barber, Larry Allen, Witten on passes, but needs to improve his blocking, were good, but other offensive players like Tucker, Al Johnson-get pushed around too much, Petti, needs to work on quickness, Greounde, then add in Peterman, this guy should be playing, but what does he do,, nothing, sitting on bench, so that ho hum attitude needs to change.

I suppose you are also going to tell me there isn't a Santa Claus either.

I refuse to answer that question, there are a lot of 'younguns' on this board.

Having said that, I gotta get goin', I have an urgent meeting with the Easter Bunny.

It's not at all impossible that Jimmy Johnson is brought back in to bring back some of that glory day swagger. That is exactly what Washington did when they brought in Gibbs.

But Johnson is more up to date in my opinion about how to win games and will come in with some direction and not needing the guidance from assistants that Gibbs needed his first couple of seasons.

It's not impossible but it's not happening either.

Book it.

Jerry yelled at Parcells? and the team? I highly doubt that, that's not JJ's personality. Say what you want about him , but he is a slick business man - he's too smart to show his cards like that.

I agree, besides JJ would have had at least one black eye if he yelled at Parcells after a loss. Does plastic get blackened if punched?
