The guy is a blocking beast whom is a very smart player! I'm going on record in saying that he will overtake Jarwin for the starting job based on production.

One of the top players in the AFC as a pass blocking tight end and has imposing size... He is the perfect big target and didn't get the name "Bulldozer" for nothing.. Just wait.. Jarwin has tools but his goofy nature doesn't lend itself to destruction.

not really betting our run game is much improved on his side but Jarwin will have the better receiving numbers. Either way nice tandem..

Man crush much?

I love a great blocking tight end . . . if they are also a great receiving tight end. I realize Jarwin isn't known for his blocking but to me he's pretty much equal to a huge WR and definitely outclasses most LB's and some safeties athletically. Having said that I guess I'm glad we picked up Bell. I'm really hoping though that some of those flashes I saw from Jarwin last year translate into a consistent performance as he becomes the starter. Dude's got good hands.

You say his skill is blocking, yet say he will overtake Jarwin based on production? That doesn’t seem to make much sense. As for being “the perfect target”, wouldn't route running hand hands play a part in being a target, whether big or not?

Another overhyped free agent acquisition

How many pass blocking snaps did you go and watch of his to determine he was a beast?

I'm not a fan of the blocking only TE. The best block is to put a threat out there that a defense has to account for in coverage. That keeps smaller players on the field.

If we're going jumbo, I'd rather find a T who can catch a 3 yard pass and teach him a 3 yard route tree. Good old Rico should have focused on blocking and short yardage routes instead of thinking he was the next Jerry Rice.

Do you remember who was the blocking TE behind Jay Novaceck during the 90’s super bowl years?

Answer: Alfredo Roberts. He was signed in 1991 in Plan-B Free Agency. From which team you ask?

Well, the Kansas City Chiefs.

Where did Dallas sign Bell from? The Kansas City Chiefs.

The starter in 1991, Novaceck was a Cowboy in college at Wyoming.

The starter now, Jarwin was a Cowboy at Oklahoma State.

Bell went to OK where Switzer won a national championship.

Roberts went to Miami, where Jimmy Johnson won a national championship.

Add in that Dallas got a RDE with some issues before camp, in Griffin just like they did with Charles Haley... and I’m pretty sure we can all go ahead and get our super bowl tattoos for this season.

His nickname is Belldozer not Bulldozer and he’s crap compared to Jarwin.
Jarwin is not that great of a blocker so what are you talking about? Are you under the impression that a TE and a WR are the same thing? News flash to you, Jarwin and Bell are both incomplete TEs, one can catch the ball better, the other blocks better but they complement each others weaknesses very well. So expect them to see time on the field together.

I think it is probable that Bell will be out there as essentially the fullback. I expect our base to be 3-wr 1-te with the fullback sometimes replacing the 1-te or third wr.

I’ll be shocked if he makes it the full season without getting cut...

I have Jarwin as my most likely break-out player.

I think the way TEs are used now in the NFL, multiple guys will get ample playing time. Jarwin will probably get the most, but Bell and Dalton Schultz will probably play a lot too. Obviously, neither Jarwin nor Bell are as complete a player as Jason Witten used to be.

Calling Bell a future star at this point is probably a stretch. Maybe a good rotational player.
