No talk of any as far as I've seen, but thought I'd pose the question here in case someone else saw something I didn't.
Thanks. Sounds a little strange. Everything I read seems to suggests the coaches were moving him around because he was so athletic, but the evidence now suggests they were moving him around b/c they didn't think he was excelling in the roles they'd previously wanted him to fill. And yet, his sack-per-snap numbers suggests he would have exceeded what their other pass rushers were producing.

Tyrone Holmes from JAX is another we could look at, but he's a rookie and more of a developmental guy. Probably more of a PS guy, not someone you'd sign to the 53.
Why don't we just go with who we have. There is no one out there that they can pick up that will give immediate help for 4 games. And we will get Lawrence back soon enough. Maybe even Gregory.
Here is a hint....those on this board do not know any better than what the coaches do. Though some of you think you do.
That is what they coach and you post.
Let us just get the season started and see what happens.
Yes we need DE's, but what can be done to help between now and game 1. Not much. A new player will need to learn the system and calls. And most likely will ne inactive the first game .

We have some young guys that may surprise us.
Tapper,M.Collins and Irving could all be nice pass rushers.
I'm in the wait and see camp.
There's so many players that get passed on that can become legit players in the future. Just because someone is out of a team or on a prsctice squad doesn't mean jack. There's value out there and I hope we get something.
Especially given the fact that fixing the pass rush and the DE position in particular has been a stated priority for some time. Sure. They've made attempts but the decision making at this point MUST be questioned given the results. Where we are now couldn't have been part of the plan...if so then God help us.The coaches and front office have one playoff appearance in 6 years. So no offense, they are definitely worthy of criticism and questioning. They certainly aren't infallible.
There is no question that there should be at least one more DE added to this roster before opening game. If they don't, it just proves how delusional they were in how they built the depth chart at one of their biggest needs.
I mean seriously.............. Irving, J. Crawford, Tapper and Mayowa? That's your DE depth chart right now? That's embarrassing for a team that apparently thinks they are a legit playoff contender.
Yeah. I am putting a lot of faith in our FO. And yes. That is laying on some sarcasm as thick as whale blubber. Smh.Why don't we just go with who we have. Some of these guys we have, never played in the NFLand Irving is in his second season. The problem with wait and see...... after you wait and see and then realize you have an issue there likely isn't anyone left taking a chance on.
I'll say it again. All we hear is how his is a playoff contender. But that depth chart right now at DE is pretty embarrassing for a playoff caliber team.
