DONT trade Barber thread

For the last 10 years we have been looking for players with passion, guys who would run through a wall for the city of Dallas. Finally we found that guy in Marion Barber. He worked his tail off the last 2 seasons and he kept his mouth shut at a time when every other cocky RB would have thrown a fit about not starting.
This is a guy that the city has all come to love and yet here he is in trade rumors. I get the excitement of D-Mac, he shows stupid crazy moves in college that remind everyone of Reggie Bush/Barry Sanders. But what Marion brought to the field this past season cannot be measured in just the numbers. When Romo was struggling and this team needed a boost, who would answer the bell? This man! When we needed that cltuch 1st down, he got it. When Texas Stadium was sitting on their behinds b/c we were struggling, Marion lifted them to their feet.
Trading this guy would be a MONUMENTAL disaster. I'm all for trading draft picks (Carp/Spears), but you do NOT trade someone who has implemented themselves as a leader and momentum setter.
You do not get guys like Marion that often, if you give him up, what does this say to the other guys?

DONT DO IT JERRY, DONT GET IT DONE!!

When you say official, do you have the expressed written consent of Cowboyszone.com?

I agree...I'm ok with trading draft picks and getting rid of guys like Spears, ayodele, carp, canty, RW, Henry even......

But Marion the Barbarian?....Not only no but HELL NO!.

i couldnt agree more, i mean what does jerry love d mac so much i can see him easily ending up like bush all that speed but cant use it. Barber is a quick back i think we under estimate his speed, hes got great cuts and vision. We can just get a speedster in the draft like johnson. Trading up for d mac and wasting picks on a talented back we already have is dumb.

PUT ME DOWN FOR A BIG FAT HELL NO!

Keep Barber and use both 1st round picks on finding his eventual replacement but with Jones leaving, Thompson not likely back and no other RB on the roster you do NOT take this team into 08' with a unknown or journey vet playing RB and 3 new faces.

I love how MBIII plays. Tough player. Great energy and plays hard every snap.

That said, the only players I would lose sleep about if Dallas traded them are Romo, D Ware, TNew, T.O. and Witten. That's it. So if MBIII were to be traded, I would be ok with it as long as the value was good and Dallas had a backup plan to at least match his talent and output.

I mean seriously folks, Tony Dorsett, Emmitt Smith, Larry Allen finished their playing careers in other uniforms. Troy Aikman and Deion Sanders were released by Jerry Jones. Those five individuals are Hall of Fame players and everyone would mourn the loss of MBIII? The NFL is a business and anything that betters the Dallas Cowboys is ok with me.

Yes. I do agree with that totally. I dont want them trading Marion for this silly trade but if Jerry just HAD to make the move then you'd trade Barber, since you'd be taking DMac, long before you'd trade your starting Corner in order to take a runningback.

I agree whole heartedly. Barber was the difference in plenty of our games. It might have been just a few runs, but they were enough to make the Cowboys get the momentum they needed to score.

There is no way we can get rid of him.

Marion has emerged as one of my fav players on this team.

We need him. This guy fights for every damn yard on every damn play.

Do NOT trade him.
