I am in favor of trading down in nearly every case, because you don't risk so much that can be thwarted by a single injury. Multiplying your picks improves your chances of striking it rich on a draft day gem. However, the only way I think Dallas should trade up is if the top DT falls far enough to warrant a reasonable trade.

Ferguson is the rock of the 3-4, and the entire scheme would be greatly weakened if he were injured. Having an eventual replacement would anchor the entire scheme, and whenever the youngster assumes the starter role, Ferguson would extend his career as a frequent spot player.

Alan Branch would be too much to hope for, but if Amobi Okoye drops enough, Dallas should trade up 5 or 6 spots to get him and anchor the scheme for many years!

If that doesn't happen, I don't see any other position where a surefire starter would help the team as much, so trade down, and multiply the 2nd and mid round quality added to the team.

I'd rather have Okoye. You can have Branch. Too much bust factor for me. He certainly could go mid first on though.

What about the NT from Utah?

Okoye intrigues me a lot.

Not sure if I wanna trade up though.

He intrigues me too. I don't want to trade up for anyone. Not sure about Okoye. Who do you see as a true top ten pick in this draft? Someone who would be a top ten pick in almost any draft?

okoye doesnt fit the 3-4 scheme.. maybe as a DE but hes never played that before

I've heard this as well. He's only about 285-290...so, he's a little light to be a DT right now.

But, he's only 19.....give him a couple of years to grow...and a couple of years with Juraczek (however you spell his name), and he may grow into the position.

I don't know that we'd have to trade down for Branch. He may fall to us at 22. DTs....Especially, NTs can be found anywhere in the draft.

I like Soliai from Utah....
