Don't You (Forget About Me)

Too much nostalgia attached to the original to want anything but a bad case of IBS for Cook. Nice effort, though.

I'm a big David Cook fan, but he really doesn't add anything to that song. If it were not so hackneyed to say so, I would say it was very karaoke.

I would have liked him to replace the main synthesizer line with a hard driving grunge line from his Les Paul.

Yeah, Cook has a better voice than Jim Kerr. But I was a bit dissapointed that he didn't, as Paula would say, "make it his own".

The Simple Minds version sounds more like the one on The Breakfast Club....

So it gets my vote...

i'll just admit it: i like both. i will say that i like david cook's version a little more.

Could do with out the video but the song itself, Simple Minds.

you're welcome. :D

I thought it would be Simple Minds easily, but I listened to the cook one first and then the simple minds one, and I gotta say, the Simple Minds one was rather weak in comparison. I was surprised. It's possible that the audio is just poor on that one youtube clip as I watched other clips and it sounded better.
