D'Onta Foreman

Absolutely went off today. Almost 350 yards rushing... I pull the trigger in the 2nd. The strength of this team is our line... You take advantage of that best you can. Not only will a one two punch with Zeke make us literally impossible to stop... You lengthen each of their careers by 4-5 years. 15-20 carries each game for both.

No way...you can't take a RB in the Top-5 and then follow it up by taking another in the 2nd round.

No.

Did he go off? Or is the Tech defense that bad? I think they are that bad. He is a good running back, but most of the nation's good running backs would gain 300 yards against that putrid defense.

I don't know how they would be able to get both backs that many carries per game. Reducing Elliot's rushing attempts per game a little wouldn't allow for 15 attempts for a #2 back. Plus both guys, like most running backs are bulk attempt guys. They need lots of carries to be most effective.

I think Foreman will be around in the 3rd round and if he isn't there will be other options for Dallas.

Both Baylor and Tech were stacking the box, 8 and 9 man fronts, and he still ran for about 600 yds the last two games. While I agree that their defenses are bad, mostly against the pass, you cannot discount what he did. He has been doing it against every team he has faced over the last 8-9 games.

This is all probably moot, as I feel he will most likely return for his senior year.

Baylor is ranked 101st and Tech is ranked 115th against the run. They are bad defenses against the run or pass. It isn't about discounting Foreman being good. It is just recognizing that those defenses along with every defense in the Big XII is horrible. Many of the good running backs would gain big yardage against them.

I think he is good. I don't think he is worth a 2nd round pick. I also think Dallas needs to fill other spots with a 2nd rounder.

This year's crop of RBs has the potential to be one of the most talented and deep ever.
I do have a very late round/ udfa pet cat at RB.

KhalfanI Muhammad out of California. 5'8" 180 pounds. 4.3 speed and he hits top speed in an instant. Great hands and very tough. Willing ti run between the tackles and not afraid to Lower his shoulder and attempt to truck linebackers. Have seen him truck safeties and corners and continue to take it to the house.

FBS rankings of rushing defenses of Texas' opponents so far:

Notre Dame - 77th
UTEP - 103rd
Cal - 128th
OK State - 97th
Oklahoma - 25th
Iowa State - 108th
K-State - 12th
Baylor - 101th
Texas Tech - 115th

:omg:

Foreman is nice but with most Big 12 prospects, I am a little cautious in seeing how they translate to the next level.

If Cook, McCaffrey, Foreman or one of those guys are there for whatever reason in the 2nd, I consider taking them. Having another powerful running back that relieves Elliott would be very tough for opposing teams to deal with.

There's so many good backs that should be coming out this year.

I'm not advocating taking an offense over defense in the 1st round, but one player I believe will be there when we pick (somewhere between #25-32) that could be an interesting player to think about is Christian McCaffery. Basically, he's a better Dunbar. What's crazy is a team like the Pats will likely end up with a chance to take him and truly utilize him to his full potential.

McCaffery could line up anywhere on offense: opposite Dez, in slot like Bease, jet sweep like Lucky, 3rd down specialist like Dunbar, returning kicks/punts, in backfield with or giving breather with Zeke. Like Zeke, would be a TD on any given touch.
