since we maybe looking for a safety, what about
Donte Whitner-DB- Bills Mar. 7 - 10:14 am et

Beat writer Mark Gaughan speculates that veteran FS Donte Whitner could be on the trading block.

Whitner played behind George Wilson at the strong safety spot late last season and he isn't going to unseat impressive second-year man Jairus Byrd at free safety. Still, Whitner would be high-quality depth and it's unlikely the Bills could get equal value for that in a trade.

sounds like a huge bust to me, why would we want him?

no thanks, misses tackles, no ball skills, cant cover, BUST!

I remember when Gosselin said what a great pick he was at #8 overall. :muttley:

Yeah he was massively overdrafted, I remember everyone was shocked when he went that high, seems like most expected him to go late 1st or early 2nd

Why?
If they want to trade him, and he can't beat anyone out for a starting position. Why would we give up a draft choice for him. When we casn just draft someone to do the same thing.
Experience at this point doesn't matter.
Now if Hamlin is gone, or Sensenbaugh. Then wait until the Bills release him.

Nope I'll pass. He's a decent player and all, but I want a playmaker back there, and I dont think he's a playmaker.

When his name was announced everyone on ESPN went

At the time I remember me going :laugh2:

Ignore the draft position, look at his stats and then tell me again why we'd want him.

I actually like the guy...but he's not the kind of safety that Dallas needs.

No thank you. I get to watch him first hand each week. Poor tackler, is not a ball hawk and has some smaller off the field issues that would be magnified in the Dallas market. My understanding is that he has been on the block since January and I haven't heard a peep of interest from anyone.

Regardless, its the poor tackling that would make me say no. He seems to bounce right off people.

Well thanks...that seals it...that is who dallas is going to trade for thanks to you.

Oooohhhh I see a banning in your future for this move mister.

:p: ;)

Not a bad player in Buffalo, just kind of got screwed around in the system. They played such a deep Cover 2 that he never really got a chance to do what he's good at.

i didnt say we should, i asked if we should, im not that familar with him was asking since reported that bills might be interested in trading him,

sometimes players get put in a position that they cant run, like a player player man to man when he is a zoner typer defender etc.

again, im not saying that, but sometimes players are put in wrong position then when put in right when like jay novachek with the cardinals, they excel
