Anyone get this? I nabbed it for the Black Friday $20 from it's original $60 price tag. Well worth it!
I'm a old fart who doesn't have the reaction time to play MP (Multi-player) and be any good at it anymore. It doesn't stop me from playing though. The sheer love of feeling the incredible excitement of the chaos of such a fast paced battle still lives and breaths in me. (best part of DOOM compared to many other games, the campaign plays that way too!)
I had DOOM, DOOM II, and DOOM III. Was not really a fan of DOOM III, but this new DOOM takes me back in the day when I felt real fear playing the original DOOM! (The CyberDemon took me an hour to kill because every-time I came around the corner to look at him, I had 3 rockets coming at me! Just the sound of him scared the crap out of me! haha) I gotta say, I saw a video on him on Youtube for the new DOOM. He seems less scary and more Diablo like than the original DOOM like.
One thing I noticed though, is when you go on Youtube and watch others play, they have the brightness turned WAY up so you can see everything! What the hell? Freaking WUSSES. Set the darkness correct and FEEL THE FEAR! That's what DOOM was about. Not about the crap the wussy kids of today play.
This is like watching a movie before reading the book. *** backwards and ruins the real thrill of the story.
Wil Wheaton is known not just for Star Trek, but for a saying. I say his saying and play the game correctly the first time you play it. In the depths of darkness!
