Sam needs way more playing time. Sam had half the amount of snaps Dorance Armstrong had this season, yet Sam Williams still accrued 4.5 sacks. That would have been more (9) sacks than the 7.5 sacks Dorance Armstrong accumulated playing twice as many defensive snaps. Plus, Sam Williams is better against the run and setting the edge.

I'd assume he gets paid to be a starter somewhere. Personally I think he's talented but also replaceable. Would you like to keep him? Sure, but you're not going to pay a ton of money to do so. We have depth at the position and will likely continue adding pass rush.

Agreed but Sam Williams also needs to layoff the stupid pills his penalties at bad times cost this team but I agree with you

great depth. he is going to go look for his money and some team will over pay him. I wouldn't over pay to keep him, unless we plan to let Lawrence walk and move Armstrong to his role.

Also, pass rusher is one of those positions you just gotta keep drafting, always look to add additional pass rushers, you never have too many.

well we don't need to gas most of us who've been here a while we pay attention especially when Randy Gregory walked everyone kept saying it's not a big deal because Armstrong brought the same or better stat lines than Gregory... What is amazing is he's doing it with far less opportunities.. He and Fowler are both underrated I mean that's what makes the defense dangerous is there's not a huge drop off when we rotating out that defensive line...

I mean more than likely we're losing both of those guys and I think it's time for Sam Williams to take more snaps and maybe golston and we have other guys on this team that might be able to fill those roles of Fowler and Armstrong...

that's what a lot of you said about DeMarcus Lawrence you know tank he doesn't get enough sacks they don't realize he does more than that but he got paid plenty not putting up double digit sacks very often....

see that's what fans problems are you say he's overpaid and most fans think he's underrated and some say overrated y'all don't know anything the team does they kept him around for a reason he was not overpaid that means the entire sports industry is overpaid you know what we need to do just accept it and stop talking about contracts and money because it's not really part of a fans reality we just watched the product that's put on the field... We debate games and then we move on we could debate the rosters but we gotta keep money out of it keep people's money out your mouth..lol

and I'm betting if Armstrong was on the field more was allowed to develop he might be as good in the run game we don't know that because they're using him more as a pass rush specialist but we don't know what he really is if he got a full time job...

I don't see him as a core piece at all. He's a complementary one behind two monster DEs.

He's making $7M a season right now, and I don't think I'd go above that.

I'm certainly no GM, but i'd bring back DA at 10 mill per.
