Right now with the problems we have had on defense the last few years, it has been the offense that gives us the best chance to win,
Sometimes in spite of the terrible defense the Offense manages to go off and score just a little more for the win.
With that said, this time has no chance to win when the offense is not going. Not taking about killing it. The defense is so bad the offense has to put up amazing stats/plays to win. So if they come out and just flat out can not get anything going...that is a recipe for a loss.
It would be nice to have a team that if the offense has a bad night the defense can hold the water. But that is not this team. Sadly, for me, I get to watch this scenarios with the Cowboys but I also have to see pretty much the same situation with my WVU Mountaineers. The offense can cook but the defense is historically bad and we have a younger DC. WVU QB Michael Hawkins Jr and RB Cam Cook have been amazing for the offense. The are top ten in total offense, both players are in the top rushing categories. However they are almost dead last in yards and points given up by a defense.
I imagine there are fans here who are in similar situations with their College teams as well. Now if you have a team that has a good offense and defense, thank your lucky stars even if they lose to a better team.
The craziest thing about the Cowboys situation is that the rest of the NFC East is sucking as well. The old NFC Least moniker fits again.
