Otherwise, you really have to question the front office's decision to keep him.

Eric Winston signed with the Cardinals for 1.25 million with 750k available in incentives.

We also could have gotten Matt Slauson for the cheap. He signed with the Bears for the veteran minimum.

I still would like to understand the process that went into bringing Livings and Bernadeau here. Who in the front office or coaching staff was so high on these two, and why?

depends on who shows up each week: Dr Jekyl or Mr Hyde.

I agree and disagree.

I agree with the fact that our OL has been bad and that even JAGs like Eric Winston would've likely been an upgrade.

I disagree with the fact of building a line by signing guys who nobody else in the league wants. Everybody was clamoring for Montrae Holland. Where is he now? He's a nobody. Andre Gurode? Backup, somewhere. Bigg Davis? Is he still alive? Eric Winston? Probably shouldn't be in the league.

I have no problem with trying to develop guys. If Leary pays off, that'll be a very good move. I was looking at the early 90s Cowboys OL. People have this false sense of reality that we spent five 1st rounders in the same year to draft an entire OL that started Day 1 and all immediately played at a Pro Bowl level. The truth is, most those guys were undrafted or drafted in the middle rounds. Also, half of those guys were drafted 8-9 years after the other half.

maybe you should stop living in the past; or get some perspective. The 90's line was a once in a generation happening. Get over it.

I'm not living in the past. I was saying that everyone acts like we did things so great back in the early 90s. I was just saying that we spent developed it over 8-9 years with a bunch of UDFAs and 3rd rounders. People seem to think we developed it over 2-3 years with all 1st round picks. My point was, we haven't been really doing things differently these past few years--we just haven't gotten lucky.

Lets be honest Doug free is quietly having a very solid TC and preseason. He did a solid job today and I thought smith struggled.

Smith always struggles. I wouldn't be surprised if in 2-3 years we slide him back to RT and spend an early 1st round pick on a LT.

Smith was struggling against maybe the best DE in the NFC outside of Ware.

Nah... Smith will not be switched back to RT.

I must saw as much cramp I have Free I'm glad to see him buying into what BC is selling and him dedicating himself to getting better. He looks better

Do we know for a fact either will be better than Free this year?
