If Doug Free takes the Paycut does this mean he stays and starts and we are not interested in signing a Clabo or Justice ?

Unfortunately, I think it means we do not sign Clabo or Justice or Winston. Whether he starts depends on if Parnell beats him out.

I think Jerry's "contact" with Clabo, Winston, etc. is just a negotiating ploy to drive Free's price down...

I think they want Parnell to win the job. They like the fact that Free can play LT or RT, whereas, Clabo and Winston are RT only. Jerry mumbled some stuff about having options because Free can play both sides.

I think this is the plan as well. Or they may want to continue to play both until one or the other starts playing better. They both have their flaws although I'd love to see Parnell play better and win the job. I'm not in favor of paying a FA to come in unless I know he can play better than either.

Yes, they could continue the rotation.

Clabo, Winston, Or Mckinnie are all better than Free and Parnell. Sign one of them and cut Free asap. He was nothing more than a turnstile head case last year. You can't afford that.

McKinnie already signed with Baltimore

No he wasn't a turnstile. He gave up too many pressures not too many sacks. Parnell gave up too many sacks. And the interior was a much bigger problem than the tackles none of whom were stellar. The OL will still be a problem this year unless we're lucky but I think it will do well enough for us to win some games.

Best to worry about the entire OL and the health of the starters everywhere on this team as we are still a bit thin in too many places.
