Peterson got tired of too may chefs being in the kitchen, can't blame him really... They fired a good head coach, dummies!

Second time in ten years they fired a successful coach.

As bad as our division is, with the eagles losing their coach and everyone pretty much stinking this year I thought it would be fun to put together an "all nfc east" team

That's not at all what is going on here. This wasn't accepting a "mistake", it's literally wanting to overstep and take control from a HC responsibilities. Eagles GM sucks, yet he is still around. Explain it.
