Dowdle officially becomes the first UDFA to rush for 1,000 yards in team history

Bright spots lol. This team won 12 games last year. We have 7 this year. And Philly outs cored us 75 13. Who gives a f about a guy rushing for 1000 yards in a 17 game season. Barkley has rushed for 2000. Henry 1600
and down here that is a bright spot that's what we're talking about all those things considered it's nice to see a player who is seldom used iced by his own coach get 1000 yards which is the first time in Cowboys history undrafted free agent gets 1000 yards I'd say the history of the Dallas Cowboys is pretty rich with running backs that this is kind of special for him and yeah we can give him a little bit of flowers yes...

Yes they outscored us with our backups yes they sure beat our backups up they don't do this to Prescott they don't do this when our team is healthy that's a fact it's all written in history so I hate to break it to you stop pissing on a guy's flowers if you don't like it just don't post he is a bright spot this year it's like hoffman and bass and overshone and liafu. Even kendricks has played very well.. There are bright spots if you feel like looking for them alright...

Soon if you don't like it don't post you're not a Cowboys fan for life you're a fake Cowboys fan you can't enjoy at least trying to find some silver lining and there are plenty of players that deserve a pat on the back for playing well this year it wasn't all bad yeah the year the team as far as the record goes was a bad year but that doesn't mean you can't point out positive things that came out of the year..

They beat the crap out of us with their BACKUP QBS
the only fake around here is the one doing the long winded drivel

Philly backup and 3rd string qb lit us up lol.

If you don't understand what I'm saying then you don't get it I don't care no they lit us up once the game was out of hand and everyone pretty much gave up but they had a healthy team outside of their quarterbacks but it's OK 'cause I no longer have to see your post and you won't be seeing mine you think you will but I'm not reading your stuff anymore because it's garbage you don't understand I can't help you you don't get it if you think you wanna give them flowers for beating 2 preseason teams the Cowboys did not March out their starters they beat us up because of that and that is only the reason they beat us up...

he deserves the credit he didn't really get the ball much the first half of the year so he did this mostly in 1/2 I believe this guy could add 1400 yards this year if he'd been given the ball from game one and at least after the Pittsburgh game and give it to him more than 10 carries per game that's what he was averaging the first eight games of the year Can you imagine trying to be in a starting running back in this league and only being handed the ball 10 * a game...

Hes also made a few really nice catches this year. He's just an all around good back imo. He might not have any "special traits," but he seems to do everything very well.

Who cares about a mediocre stat.
It's a big individual accomplishment considering Dowdle was hardly getting ten touches per game until November. Maybe Dallas would have won a few more games earlier this season if the coaching staff went with some more balance.

I agree and if anytime needs to be made Jerry Jones needs to be aware that a lot of our problems stem from the fact that Mike McCarthy somehow forgets in training camp practices and in preseason this stuff was supposed to be worked out already he should have known that he was our back and there should have been no experimenting yeah you could use running back by committee but Rico should have been getting 18 to 22 carries from game one they should have tried to establish the run game they didn't he plays a completely different offense the first half of the year 2 years in a row with Prescott like some kind of spread some weird almost never under center literally almost no run game I mean it's just some of the worst play calling in game plans and schemes I've ever seen to be so different from your starters to your backups when I've seen the last five weeks would have made this team so much better from game one on had we used that type of game plan and philosophy why does it take a half a year for a coaching staff to finally wake up and decide how they wanna use their players and yes last year we did have our starters and he did wake up and offense did get better.

The problem is it shouldn't take that long for you to realize all this and in my opinion Rico was better than Tony last year and again he didn't get utilized properly yes Tony may have had more skills before his injury as far as speed and burst but he lost that and I don't care he was making $11 million you should have left him in that same role he had behind zeke and let Rico do the tough stuff and I bet Tony would have been more close to his old self had he not been dependent on as the primary back.

But hey that's just my opinion and now I'd like to keep Rico but if somehow some other team offers him too much money I'm letting him walk because running backs can be replaced guys like him can be found that's why he's an undrafted free agent you can get guys late in the draft which the Cowboys are really dumb 'cause even in the 5th 6th or 7th round there had been a better choice from what they may have picked to not getting any running backs at all in the draft was really dumb...
I think the guys worked about 4 million and now my opinion doesn't count but I'd offer him like three years $12 million and maybe make half of it guaranteed.. If not you have to wake up and realize that we may have to let him go because if he wants too much money many running backs are available that look like him for a lot less money than that contract would look like
but again I blame Mike McCarthy for most of our problems I like him as a head coach actually and if we had to be forced to have him here next year I get it it might be tough to find someone better but he needs his offensive coordinator duties ripped from him and I don't like this offense at all so I'd like a new offensive scheme and offensive staff because whatever it is they're doing for Cooper rush and the way they're running this offense with backups that looks better than our starters it's because that should have been being done from day one and the fact that it took them until most of our team was hurt to s....this two straight seasons it gets old....
I hope this embarrassment by the eagles, wakes up Jerry and any thought he had to bring his coaching staff back ended yesterday...

67.1 yards per game. That's what 1000 yards is 15 games is. That sounds average to me. Maybe not even average. I don't get the celebration after a blow-out loss.

Nothing against Rico but this is like celebrating a tackle for loss on the field with the team down by 40 points.

Good for Rico but next year he cannot be the featured RB.

Glad to see it. He should have had more carrys and maybe we could have competed yesterday. MM gets pass happy.

Well whoever makes the decisions didn't have faith in him early in the year, and mysteriously this changed when Dak went down. He has done well enough to make Jerry think we're good at RB and no draft one in a RB rich draft? I'd pump the brakes on the celebrations for now until we see what the corpse does

In a perfect world he is not the best RB in the RB room, but still good for him.
Man, GM Jerry brought in Zeke to start over Rico, and stood on it with a double down when Henry was mentioned, my goodness. I worry about this team sometimes lol.

Rico was the best RB in the room this season because of Jerry, now let's see if they even care enough or have the ability to find someone better than Rico.

UMM !!!
2 official fumbles this year 2 in 16 games and that's what you're saying it's funny how recency bias the guy fumbles by the way did you see the replay on the last fumble literally his own player ran full speed with a hip into the ball and then right after the defender punches at the ball it's kind of hard to hold on to the ball in the now when you have that kind of thing happen Bang Bang back-to-back but just let me be clear he only has two official fumbles this year somehow that's a lot for you I mean is it I mean is that what you're saying that you think he's a fumbler when he's actually not that is what our fan base does they pick on people and they say things 'cause they just think he's fumbled a lot and he has not..
No hate on Rico, he's done well. And very commendable for you, blueblood70, to defend Rico regarding fumbling (both in the redzone).

However......the fanbase has been kind. Rico will never get the Zeke treatment. I'm specifically talking about a Tony Pollard fumble in the redzone, that Zeke got criticized for coming out of the game (as part of McCarthy's rotation plan)......Zeke got criticized for coming out of the game, more so, as the cause than Tony Pollard, who actually fumbled on the next play......game vs bad NYJets team led by Sam Darnold a few years ago that we lost. So Rico is ok, he will never get that level of criticism. Rico is safe.

Yes it was reported in CAMP Rico is far and away our best back. Yet MM, took forever and sacrificed a ton of carries/downs before he actually made the switch.

The biggest issue with keeping MM is that he's not a player who you simply tac on a one year prove it deal. If he stays it's a 4-5 year deal and we will be locked in. Jerry has been very public about his dislike for coaching "dead money." Even if he fails it won't be enough. He'll have to fail in spectacular fashion before Jerry eats that money. As it is, it's ridiculous what we pay a coach compared to what the "elite" coaches get paid. We're cheap.
