JJ really needs to prove he's durable rest of season out.

If a Stephen Jackson type back is on the clock do you add depth/competition?

Just a thought.

I would love to get Reggie Bush in next years draft ,but that will probably not happen !
I also would not want it to be a possibilty with our first pick , unless it came via trade.

We have more depth at RB than any other team in the league, especially if Barber continues from last week. I think our first pick, which hopefully won't be that high, should go to some of our other holes. Tackle has to be a concern now. WR might be a possibility depending on what we do with Price. LB might be another spot.

No way jose (cortez)!!!

JJ will be fine. And either MBIII ot TT will be solid as well.

JJ has a sprained ankle. It can happen to any running back, any player for the matter on any given play. You guys are funny.

What depth? Best in NFL? Man thats funny

we have Atrain, TT and undrafted FA and an unproven 4th round pick.

There are a lot of teams with better depth at RB than us.

I like JJ a lot. Great back when healthy. But he has to prove durability.

Last year broken rib, broken collarbone
Now a high ankle sprain

Can we count on JJ for 16 games and the playoffs?

At this point I am thinking OL .
Center seems to be most pressing need.
I am thinking Safety in round 2 or 3
and the other 2 rounds OL.
Now if there is a chance for Bush he is special and even though I agree we are solid at RB . I also think we do not have a great RB and Bush will be great!

Indeed are pressing needs. Wiould be nice to see Tucker and Petitti solidify OT as this season wears on. WR might be a thought if Price moves on. Age in the starting unit.
I think we are set with Al Johnson for a decade. He will only get better with experience.

The way things stand right now I do not think we have to target a certain position with our 1st round pick.

We are getting to a position where we can just take the best player available.

Obviously we could use some help in a few areas like FS, LB, O-Line, and WR, but I do not think we are in any position that we have to worry about the round.

Take the best player, period. If that happens to be a RB, so be it.

It is actually nice to start gettin into a position where you stop worrying about position, and just take the most talented player.

WR in the first all the way. They take time to develop and although we might be OK now, age is a definite concern.

OL in the second.

After that, BPA.

I'm hoping Devin Hester continues to have a subpar year and still decides to come out early, making him available maybe in the third. This is a lot of hoping I realize, but he is someone that could solidify our return game for years.

Field position, field position, field position!

I think we're ok at RB for now (and for a while).

I agree that we have more pressing needs at OL where we are getting old at the guard spots with Allen and Rivera. We need to start grooming some replacements for them and Peterman just doesn't inspire me to confidence. Also it looks like we could use some depth at tackle and may need a new center. Johnson is not getting it done IMO and Andre must be screwing up in practice or he would be playing in Johnson's place.

Another need is for another young WR with Key and Glenn both getting long in the tooth. We have no guarantee that Price will be here after his one year deal is done. He has not been happy on the bench so far and will likely look for greener pastures; especially if he looks good filling in for Crayton.

Also, I think we could use some more depth at LB and maybe a starter to replace Nguyen if his neck problem doesn't clear up (neck injuries scare me). Singleton is a generic LB at best and Fujita has not set the world on fire here. Bradie James has been playing better this year but the guy is still dumb as a rock. We have Burnett but he has spent way too much time with the trainers for my liking so until he gets healthy and stays that way he is a question mark IMO.

We are pretty solid at RB for now. TT looks like an adequate backup with great potential and MBIII has been coming on and looks to have a good upside. Lately MBIII has been playing more like what we expected when he was drafted. So unless someone special like Bush comes along at RB for us to pick then I'd say "No" to a high draft pick at RB.

What team is loaded more? Steelers can't stay healthy, Tampa with Pittman? Carolina maybe. Atlanta probably at least their top 2. I think we go 4 deep better than any team and it shows in games when all get touches.

I would put RB way down on the priority list at present given the depth and youth we have at the position. It is a position where injuries frequently happen and that is the nature of the game.

I agree that the highest priorities right now have to be OL and LB. There are many drafts when not even a single quality LT prospect is available but that is not the case this year and we would be ill-advised not to draft one if a quality one is available when we are on the clock.

I think drafting another LB high should also be a priority now that we are a 3-4 defense with only one star LB - Ware. We probably need at least one other playmaker and some more depth. I'll be happy to say bye to Singleton next year. Fujita needs to start showing up more - hopefully it is just a matter of adjusting to the scheme as I thought he would be a good fit at SOLB.

Only way the Cowboys should draft a RB in the 1st if its Reggie Bush but thankfully i think we won't be in that position. The guy i really would want in the 1st is A.J Hawk, that guy is gonna be a stud. But back to the RB thing, no chance we draft one in the 1st 3 rounds.

Depth better?

KC, Carolina, Minny, Bears, Rams, Miami, Browns, Seattle, Falcons, Denver for starters

never say never

We loaded bear with playmakers D this draft. Load up playmakers on offense. After the Flo injury it should be apparant that having extra playmakers and team depth is imperative to winning. Can this team today go deep into playoffs without JJ? Answer is no and he's not proven we can count on him. Its going to at least be a consideration if the right player is there!

If a true elite bluechip franchise RB drops to us that is another matter. If it is just another good RB we should pass.
