So. Off for the day. Going to take the dog for a good run after this.

I wanted to put together a FA and Draft strategy instead of the usual Draft only. I am not going to do contract numbers just players.

Re-sign
Dak Prescott
Chidobe Auwuzie
Joe Looney (to back up Biadasz)
CJ Goodwin
Antwan Woods (RFA)
Cedric Wilson (RFA)
Aldon Smith (only if team friendly)
L.P Ladouceur

This gives us some flexibility in the draft as we dont lose our entire secondary. I am sorry but Lewis and Woods between their comments and on field crap can take a walk. Mainly referring to Lewis' headbutt in the Giants game and dumb penalty. And his attitude of laughing afterwards.

Free Agency

Johnathan Hankins(elite run stopper. I think our biggest need and not too pricey, Stephens biggest need)

Malik Hooker(Low risk high reward. Loved him coming out of Ohio State, a change of scenery may help him)

If not Hooker id love to go after Neal (Dan Quinn probably would too)

Richard Sherman (Let him mentor Diggs and our new CB. See Below)

Reuben Foster( LB Help. I loved him coming out of Alabama and he could be had at a decent price. Again Stephen's favourite)

This gives us more flexibility to not reach for need in the draft IMO.

And now the Draft.

10-Caleb Farley- I dont think anything needs to be said about this pick. And with Sherman there as a mentor Farley can develop into a shutdown corner. IMO

42- Trevon Moehrig- Dan Quinn gets his Shiny toy, and Dallas FINALLY drafts a safety. This kid is going to be a star at the next level. I just hope he does it wearing the Star.

74- Tyler Shelvin- Great hands inside and an ELITE run defender. Something this team has lacked for years.

99- Baron Browning- Dynamic athlete. Wont be there diagnosing plays but hes a player and can help this defence.

114-Johnathan Cooper- Interesting prospect at EDGE

139-Cole Van Lanen- A swing tackle and understudy to Tyron. Wisconsin always seems to churn out good OL.

177-Ambry Thomas

188-Khyiris Tonga- Ever see game of thrones? The mountain? Imagine that on the DL on run downs to spell Shelvin.

Thats what I have and I would love your honest opinions. This is a step in the right direction to compete and to inject some talent on Defence.

Have a great FRIDAY.

I love the effort and the thought process. But I have a very hard time believing Dallas would be able to sign even half of those guys as free agents. I'd absolutely love to sign all those outside FA's you listed. But bringing in any new bodies will have to be dirt cheap. IMO, none of the guys you listed will fit that target price range, sadly.
Dak alone will kill the cap space they have, and then some. Even after some restructures and cuts they'll be strapped for spending capitol.
I think they will try very hard to get Awuzie, Looney, Woods and LP re-signed. After those 5, they might be completely spent.

I dont see hooker costing much, and Hankins market value is like 3 million. According to sportrac. I dont know I figured we could sign a couple

Really like your fa class, outside of Foster who has played in years. Awuzie/Sherman might be overkill and I don't think they can afford both. Love the top 4 picks in your mock.

You'd have to do serious gymnastics with Dak and Chido's contracts, and do a bunch of restructures/releases to the roster for this to be at all realistic.

Don't mind the players, but I don't think this would be doable, especially since Chido/Sherman would be redundant.

Also, Foster hasn't played since...2018? I don't think he's an option lol

Good. It means hes cheap lol. Yeah Sherman wouldnt make sense now that I look at it.

I like your draft and most of the FA. My only concern would be Neal's injury history. When he is healthy, he is very good.

what happened to Malik Hooker? he seems to have fallen off a cliff.

Love the draft.

What are we paying Awuzie?

Reuben Foster’s acl injury in 2019 was so bad it made him lose feeling in his toes. This was a year after another injury that caused bad ligament damage. His nerves have to regenerate before he can play and they were for a bit as Foster was practicing.

But according to Rivera this TC he said that Rueben “plateaued” and had to be put back on IR to get back to rehab in order to keep the nerves regenerating. Rivera specifically mentioned Dallas as a team who had success with this similar comeback attempt, but Washington hasn’t been able to have the same.

Nerves have to regenerate in order for him to play.
