I would sign him...If you get one good year out of him, great. If you get nothing, no big deal.

You just don't sign him and think he's a long-term solution. But if you pair him with a young safety, he gives you a lot more upside than HaHa or Iloka. Just depends on what he gets paid as to whether or not you can afford that risk for one year.

Absolutely right.

And who ends up getting snaps when these guys they counted on aren't there?

Guys like Thompson that belong on the street and you can't win with.

But they are still good enough to beat the teams that are in rebuild mode, and because of the bad division....thats considered to be in contention, which is all Jerry wants.
