Which player would you have liked to become a Dallas Cowboy but It didn't happen.

Out of all the players we signed and drafted, I sure would of liked to have Willie McGinest. That miss hit hard because I really think that guy had a lot to bring to the table. We have a linebacker core that's young and most certainly could've used the tutlage. I thought he could do more for the defense, without stepping foot on the field, than any other defensive player available.
Could you imagine how much faster the defense would of come around with Willie out there?

I really wanted Adam Vinateri. I'm happy with Vandy, he's an enormous upgrade over anything we've had here since Boniol, he was pretty solid back in the early 90s.

I don't lose any sleep over the fact that we have Vandy instead of Vinateri.

Willie would have been nice but I think we will do fine without him.

CB Antonio Cromartie, OT Kevin Shaffer, And S Corey Chavous I would have loved having added them to the team.

Cromartie - Would have provided us some depth at cornerback, he could step in and play had henry gotten hurt again this year (god forebid) and I think he will become a great cornerback. Great long term option and he is a playmaker

Shaffer - Young, Strong, and Smart. Would have been a much better choice than an Old Fabini. Shaffer would be a sure starter on our O-line as oppose to Fabini.

Chavous - Could step in and be our Ballhawk FS, he can tackle and cover well. But with that being said I like pattycakes watkins and coleman.

I wanted a LT prospect in the 2nd - Colledge or Eric Winston would have been good.

#1 Bentley; our C play was atrocious last year and a big part of where the OL was getting blown up, not an AJ or Gurode believer
#2 Vinateri; much better choice than vanderjerk, flat out money and was only what...$500k difference? Ridiculous
#3 Chaveous; wily vet that is in the right place at the right time and would've been a huge upgrade and bridge for one of our worst positions from last year

I'll answer a bit differently. I'd have preferred re-working Larry Allen's contract and keeping him over Kosier.

Slightly behind this, I'd like to have tried to trade Glover if we couldn't keep him.

I wouldn't have minded keeping Keyshawn either and going to a 3 WR set. I believe he'd have been just as valuable as a 2nd TE, but I don'tmind the youth movement at all.

I wouldn't have acquired TO, but I understand why we did. You have to roll the dice now and then. No guts, no glory.

Adam V and I would have liked to have seen another O-lineman in FA.

Does anyone really know if LA would have accepted reworking his deal? My guess is the answer is NO, hence the big man was cut.

Glover should have been traded. 4th round draft picks are treated like gold any more and I still think we could have got one. 5th at worse.

I also didn't want TO but the bottom line is TO > Key so if I could only have one.....TO is it. I also agree at least we got younger and better with Fasano > Campbell.

My offseason wishlist/prediction was TO, Fabini, Sowell, Ayodele, Vinatieri, Hope, and Lawson, and 2/3rd round picks on OL.

Close enough.

I would have liked to have landed Colledge and Chris Kuper in the draft.

Would have preferred Vinateri to Vanderjagt.

Would have preferred Bart Scott to Akin Ayodele.

Would have like to have seen Chris Hope at FS.

But, all in all, I can't complain. I thought Carpenter was a perfect fit for the defense. TO changes the offense completely.

Not sure what I think about Kosier yet, but I think LA was about done and he really wasn't what the team seems to be looking for in linemen.

Adam Vinatieri instead of Adam Vanderjagt
Chris Hope instead of Marcus Coleman
Stephen Neal instead of Kosier
Some kid off the street instead of Terrell Owens
Tom Ashworth instead of Jason Fabini
Akin Ayodele is just fine

Oh jeez not the chris hope bandwagon again.

Who signed him anyways?
Titans. And yes, he would obviously be better than Coleman/Davis/Watkins.

Larry Allen - In general you can tell the quality of the FA by the quality of team they sign with. (LA, Dex, Glover).

Chris Hope - 5 million per year with 10 million in guarantees. Even Arculeta thinks they Titans are getting ripped off.

I'll take the 6-5/212, 4.4, 40 inch VJ guy for 250k.

Chris Hope: 4 years, 0 sacks, 4 ints., 2 FF's, 5 PD's.

What a playmaker.

Hope was overpaid (and that is the first I have seen of actual numbers), but he is better than anything on the roster right now. Would have been an upgrade.

I don't condone paying free safeties or drafting them high, so I wouldn't have given him that money. The Super Bowl victory definitely contributed to his pay day.

But, for all those that like to whine about how Roy needs someone "to free him up to do what he does best", what do you think Hope did in Pittsburgh for Polumalu?

Not to mention the fact that he is a former Academic All American. I'm not sure if any of the safeties on the current roster have the sense to come in out of the rain. Dallas needs someone back there with the wits to get the secondary lined up.

Darren Woodsen...FS.

Hoping he was going to come out of retirement for one last run at the Super Bowl...

I think Watkins is supposed to be pretty intelligent (academics-wise). Think I read his parents are professors or something.

I wish we would have retained Fujita. I thought he looked real solid toward the end of the year and thought he would be a good rotation guy.
