Draft and/or F/A....who's your miss

Hope was overpaid (and that is the first I have seen of actual numbers), but he is better than anything on the roster right now. Would have been an upgrade.

I don't condone paying free safeties or drafting them high, so I wouldn't have given him that money. The Super Bowl victory definitely contributed to his pay day.

But, for all those that like to whine about how Roy needs someone "to free him up to do what he does best", what do you think Hope did in Pittsburgh for Polumalu?

Not to mention the fact that he is a former Academic All American. I'm not sure if any of the safeties on the current roster have the sense to come in out of the rain. Dallas needs someone back there with the wits to get the secondary lined up.

I think the Pittsburgh's front 7 and Poloamalu's 4.34-4.37 speed does far more for him than Hope.

You might be right. The Steelers didn't seem that concerned about the spot. They picked up Ryan Clark from Washington to fill the spot and drafted Anthony Smith. If Hope was truly irreplaceable, they might have thrown more money at him. If you recall, Hope went weeks and weeks before visiting anywhere. I wanted him prior to free agency, but what happened makes you think. Polamalu and Hope were good moreso because they did everything together and had good chemistry. I am not sure if Hope's talent level is that great, plus he is supposed to be a little slow and I don't mean of foot.

Imagine how fast Polamalu can run if he had a hair cut. :laugh2:
