Actually, I'm glad it's starting late. Anyone with children in sports, especially young children, know that the mornings are usually occupied with baseball or soccer.

My son has a baseball game at 12:30 p.m., which means he'll be finished in enough time for me to race home and catch the start of the draft.

I have an autism walk that morning also, and a karate match later that night. But I may skip the karate match. The draft only happens once a year, and we do have two picks. :)

I loved the fact that the draft started "early", it has always been like Christmas in April for me. I would be up most of the night before and wake up EARLY that morning. So, now it's like waking up Christmas morning and not opening presents until after lunch. My wife and daughters go stay with the in-laws for the weekend and my 4 brothers and I live on JWBlack, Shiner Bock, and countless pizza deliveries for 2 days. My entire working life I have made it a point during job interviews to guarantee that I would be off for Draft Weekend as a condition of accepting a position:D .

Thanks for messing with my favorite day commish:nana:

While I'm glad that the draft is starting later, I do agree with you that the Commissioner altered the draft day experience for die-hard fans. And, really, the draft is for die-hard fans.

Fans enjoy the draft being an all-day affair, especially with the advent of the Internet where fans can not only congregate in homes for a whole day but be online chatting with other fans.

The change does alter the draft-day experience.
