Draft day menu!

Having about 10 guys over for a draft party. Beer is already on ice (Shiner, Dos Equis, Stella, Michelob Ultra). Appetizers include veggie tray, sausage cheese dip eaten with Fritos, grilled jalepeno and cheese sausage. The main course will include freshly fried catfish and french fries. The appetizers will be ready before everyone arrives at 6:00 pm. My wife has agreed to fry the catfish and fries after everyone arrives and then disappear upstairs with my teenage daughter. Of the guys in attendance I have (5 Cowboys's fans, 1 Eagles' fan, 1 Giants' fan, 2 Texans' fans, and 1 Raiders' fan).
 
Probably a burrito bowl. Trying to keep the carbs down. Damned hard to do if you aren't cooking it yourself. There is place here in town had burrito bowls with brisket. Pretty tasty stuff.
 
Trying to decide if this is going to warrant a work night of drinking and eating bad things. If I get waist deep in alcohol and wings and we trade out of the first round I will be beyond pissed.
Yep, right there with you on that so I am dumping the football traditional foods just in case. One of my favorite foods is lobster so I am doing lobster tacos and mangoritas so if we don't make a pick tonight, it was still time well invested as I really don't care what the other teams do. I will have had good food and drink so screw'em.

One of my favorite foods is lobster so I am doing lobster tacos and mangoritas so if we don't make a pick tonight, it was still time well invested as I really don't care what the other teams do. I will have had good food and drink so screw'em.

I experimented a bit last night with lobster. I had some Colossal blue crab lump and a 12oz tail in the freezer. I bought some traditional angel hair pasta nests and minor ingredients yesterday.

Basically, I tossed the pasta in a lemon buerre blanc sauce with a touch of saffron. As for the seafood, I trimmed the lobster tail and cut into pieces the same size as the lump crab. I then lightly breaded both and flash fried them. I placed those on the pasta but it did not seem finished.....it needed a pork product. So, I pan fried some julienne prosciutto and topped off the pasta.

I built a winner :flagwave:

Ya know Coach.. thank you. I am doing pizza and vodka. Footballesq but not traditional wings and stuff. Will save it for opening day. Don’t we open with a 4pm game this year?

I started drooling the minute I read that, well, I was drooling before but I am drooling more now. I discovered if I stopped drooling, they increase the medication and I already think Jesus is driving the bus.

I'll save the lobster for a special occasion, .like when we fire Garrett!

yep @ NC, gonna have roasted Fig Newtons for that one.
