putting them in the order I wish it would go

1 1 Carson Wentz, QB, 6 -5 #235 North Dakota St

2 Trade out of 4 and net another second round pick

1 Noah Spence, DE, 6-3 #255 Eastern Kentucky
Fluid, balanced athlete with smooth lateral quickness and change of direction ability to avoid blocks. Gets upfield quickly with his first step burst and closes fast, staying low to the ground with above average coordination. Wins the corner and controls his momentum extremely well with his natural leverage giving him an added advantage. Displays deadly dip to flatten to the quarterback.

3 Trade out of 4 and net another second round pick

1 Ezekiel Elliott, RB, 6 #225 Ohio State
Elliott is extremely well-rounded as a runner with ideal size for the position along with coordinated footwork that is always in sync with his eyes. He runs with natural pad level and fantastic forward lean, using his balance, leg drive and relentless fight to move the chains and pick up every inch he can. Plays with a strong intensity for the game

4 Trade out of 4 and net another second round pick

1 Andrew Billings, DT, 6-1 #310 Baylor
load in the middle with brute power to engage blockers and toss them aside. Tough to block due to his blend of power and quickness.

5 1 Joey Bosa, DE,6-5 #275 Ohio State
Bosa is very physically gifted, but even better, he knows how to use those gifts, and works his tail off to maximize his potential. He might never be a consistent double-digit sack artist in the NFL, but he is scheme versatile with the power, athleticism and instinctive traits to disrupt the pocket.

Give me Billings at #4. He'll be an elite 1-tech and will turn the D-line into a force for the next 10 years.

Again while Marinelli is running the defense, then a 1-tech in the first (especially at 4) is highly unlikely.

If we go defense at 4, then my money is on Jack.

I think people have taken one scenario and built a religion on it. It was more likely he didn't think that particular DT (Floyd i believe it was) was worth a 1st round pick. I assure you if Donald had fell to us last year we would've snatched him up. Besides not too long ago we didn't believe in drafting interior OL in the 1st round, we have changed philosophies on that type of thinking. Time to invest a 1st rounder on the D line, and 1 tech is where the weak link is.

Yes but Donald is a 3-Tech and Marinelli's defense requires a good one, so Donald would have been a definite option.

Now look at our 1-tech Nick Hayden, you could most likely have spent anything between a 2nd and a 4th round pick and significantly upgraded to position but we've failed to do so.

So now you think we'd spend the 4th overall pick?

Rankin is moving up the boards I have seen him ranked as high as the 8th overall player. I would not be upset with us taking him at 4, I would be happy as hell if we traded down to like the 7th slot and picked him and a extra 2 rounder.

I really like the upside of that Robert Nkedemiche ( I know I spelled that wrong).

Even though I am a fan of drafting a QB at 4 (assuming one is worth that pick), I think you need to add Myles Jack as an option.

The caveat I have is that I don't know if the available quarterbacks will be franchise quarterbacks. Assuming they are, I go with the Wentz option.

Assuming they're not, I go with the Ezekiel Elliott option. I think he would add more to our team - both offensively and defensively - than any other option. Besides, this draft is deep in DTs and if we're really desperate for one, we can always jump back into the bottom of the first round because we have the extra pick moving down to get Zeke.

The team need not overthink this. Compile a list of the 4 best prospects in the class and you're guaranteed at least one of them.

Tunsil
Bosa
Jack
Ramsey

Not rocket science

Ok, Ill play along - sort of ...
Say they decide there is only one QB that is worth the # 4 pick, and that QB is taken before us (Doesn't matter which one it is. Only one is graded that high) The trade back option is perfect, but to get a second rounder means we are trading out of the top ten. If they believe a DT will be there at 34, that rules out Billings. Do they invest in another DE, with our top pick, or look at that position a little later. If we are now drafting out of the top ten, then Bosa is long gone. Elliott is the option left, but depending how far back we have traded, one of the other QB's might still be an option.
This is kinda what I'm hoping for - a mid first round pick, with two second rounders. Take your pick in the first - maybe Jack lasts till then, one of the DT's and maybe they identify a QB in that second/third round range to groom. Or even a safety with the other second - or corner ...
There are just so many ways you could turn.
Perfect scenario for me - Trade down from # 4, garb lets say - Miles Jack. Second round - Vernon Butler, and Which ever top corner is left. Now, we still have 3rd (best running back), 2 4ths, and 3 or 4 6th rounder's to fill out other positions. And that means we have picked up a QB in free Agency .....

Barf, can't stand all the Wentz at #4 on this forum. No way that Dallas picks him at #4.

My first choice is QB at 4
But a stud dline guy would help immediately and help a lot
No RB for me in the top of the first rnd
My fear is we pass on a QB now to get the immediate help and pay dearly for it when romo does hang it up

I'd take QB, Bosa, Jack or Elliot. Trade down a few spots would be nice too if we don't value a QB at #4.

But I expect we'll end up with Ramsey or even Vernon Hargreaves. It's what we do when we have top 10 picks.

if they believe in wentz or goff, take him.

otherwise, scenario #4.

then add a CB, a LB and a RB.
